Hmmmm, how about a musical qoute "in the end we are all chalk lines on the concrete only to be washed away. In the time that I have been given I am what I am."

What is that? A sum that is more than its parts. The interests listed and discussed are my main interests. However, my art collection is worth more than my gun collection. My library includes plays by Arthur Miller and books by Judy Bloom I can talk about a range of topics. Like Robert Heinlein said "specialization is for insects." I can also do most of the things on the list from that qoute.

I am not truly looking for anything but you can only pick one so I picked dating. I feel there should be an option of write/talk, if there is mutual interest meet then see where life leads us. My greatest love came at a time when I was looking for some one to hang out with, be friends with, be physical with begin the healing process and not get involved. And I made some of the worst decisions relationship wise when I was looking for an LTR. So now I just take people and life as they come and see where it leads.

I enjoy history (B.A.),science fiction hiking my friends and target shooting, archery (new to it)and new experiences(the day I don't learn something new is the day they put a tag on my toe). I love to cook--bbq is my specialty but I do well in the kitchen(just don't ask me to bake---ok you can ask and I will but it might not be that good). As for music, I listen to just about everything, but mostly rock. Movies I just love movies but don't get to go to them as often as I used to (nearest theaters an hour from my house) so I have lots of vhs and dvds.

Just a thought--Well not something I would normally put here for the world to see, but since sex comes up in so many of the ladies profiles on here (in a generallly negative context) I figured what the heck. I enjoy sex as much as anyone else and understand that it is a factor in romantic relationships. However, all in all this has been my view for quite a while. Sex is like pizza. When it is bad it can still be o.k. when it is good, oh my. But all in all there are more important things in the universe. To find out what those things are in my universe just ask.

NOTE 1 If you have children and I do not ask about them it is not because I don't like kids. I am a professional uncle with over a dozen nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. Quite simply I love kids. The reason I won't ask is simple. It is because I feel the parent should decide if and when the kids should be introduced. My mother taught me that. First by the example she set as a single mother and secondly by pretty much telling me that the first time I ever went out with a single mom.

NOTE 2 Reference smoking I occassionally smoke cigars and a pipe it is not an every day thing but I will not put down that I don't smoke. I also chew but plans are in the works to kick that to the curb. I may give up on this as each time I make an active effort to do so my life goes to crap. Probably coincidence but who knows.

I wrote a woman right after my divorce that was looking for an intimate encounter (nothing happened) so if that is a block criteria and you are interested you have to make the first contact. Or not. Like I said I take life as it comes it does no good to force it.

Dinner, lunch, or coffee whatever you are comfortable with (No, I am not indecisive. I just realize it is a big scary world and want you to be comfortable)that lets us talk and get to know each other. I love to eat out but also love to cook so dinner and conversation are my preferences for a first date but just walking or meeting in the park is cool too. I don't think movies are a good first date because if you talk to get to know each other they throw you out(don't ask me how I know this just trust me). Not much into the bar scene.
