For whatever reason... my profile is not getting the right message to the right person out there - I'm scaring the fish away! (am I too honest?)
So trying again.
Separated for 7 years, one teenager left at home, and while she is independent and a good kid, she IS my #1 priority. Everyone says it, but few really get it. (It's called parenting) So therefore - I am seeking Nemos father, someone who truly understands the sacrifice of putting your baby first. If you don't have kids thats okay - just so long as you get it.
Very down to earth, independent, fairly laid back, low maintenance... For the most part I like who I am, don't need to hide behind a lot of makeup or jewellery. Care about myself enough to eat healthy, try to exercise, and want to lose a few extra pounds. Just not obsessive about it.
I tend to think outside of the box, am fairly ingenious and resourceful, and growing up in a different country (I am not American born - but am a Naturalised citizen) means I have a slightly different view of the world..
More of a homebody than a socialite, but love getting together with small groups of friends to do smores over the fire out back. Happy to hang out with a glass of wine, or drinks with friends, but not into bars.
Lots of interests - reading, photography, gardening, handcrafts (knitting and sewing), Girl Scout leader, camping, day trips to nowhere checking out historical and scenic spots along the way, antiquing and flea markets, love the beach in the evening when everyone is gone and the off seasons (I'm not a sunbather), light hiking, kayaking, skiing, most music (especially classical and country, definitely not rap or heavy metal), love a day in the city, just wouldn't want to live there,weekends away exploring new cities, and love the occasion to get dressed up for something - night at the theatre or symphony.. or just a nice dinner (there haven't been too many opportunities lately) Love to travel - right now - as far as my trusty van will take me, hoping to spread my wings in years to come.
Spiritual but not religious? I have a strong faith, and at times have been a regular churchgoer, but don't currently have a home church.
Been alone for too long now.. miss the companionship, sharing tales of woe and joy from our days at work, texts and phonecalls thru the week, the fun and surprises, the excitement, the romance and intimacy, I long for the security of knowing someone is going to be there for the long haul....

First dates are always so uncomfortable! No way about it. But as mundane as it sounds, meeting for coffee or the like - picnic in the park? icecream? is a good way to start, maybe with a plan to continue on with another activity if all goes well... minigolf anyone?
Hopefully there will be dates later where we will be more comfortable sitting across from each other and wanting to stare into each others eyes...
