About Me
Why am I [still] here (and there)? Keeping my options open, or hoping for a needle in a haystack, maybe. I’m not sure internet dating sites are the answer to finding a significant other, but figure it can’t hurt to put yourself out there. I’ve had good dates, I’ve had so-so ones, I’ve received strange IMs and Emails, but it’s all a learning experience.
I’m finally at a point in my life where my free time is mine. The last kid has flown the nest, I have a great job and great friends. Baggage has been dealt with, put away, or buried, as the case may be. I'm quite content overall.. it's hard to use the phrase "something is missing," really, but occasionally I find myself wishing for a companion to regularly share my time with. I miss sharing things with someone special.. whether it be great news, food, live music, the company of friends, or a sunset. "Partner in crime" is a good term, I think. A partner for good times and crazy times, to be devious or silly or serious with, as the case may be. Someone who is at a similar point in their life, or close to it, likes to give and receive affection but is not clingy and believes in balance in all things.
I'm a giver. I'm fun-loving, smart, independent, flirty, sensual. I'm very laid back (one of my friends actually called me "low-maintenance"), and get along with just about anyone. I love music, especially live, especially blues and modern rock/alternative. I don't act or feel my age (my grandson will appreciate that one day), and tend to have friends much younger than I am. I'm very social, and keep very busy ... I love outdoor festivals, wineries, breweries, restaurants, books, theater, movies, sports, exploring interesting places and meeting interesting people. I've become a political junkie (liberal democratic tendencies), a newsaholic at times. I'm fascinated by any and all spiritual matters and have deep faith in God, although I am not religious. I'm a sucker for a ride on a Harley, and want to learn to ride myself. I'd love to live in the Outer Banks.
