Well here I am. I've heard that this forum for meeting new people works quite well but I am not 100% sold on the idea of meeting a significant other on here as of yet. While I have been on here for awhile now it has been my experience that it seems to be more difficult for men to make initial contact with a positive response, or even any response at all, than visa versa. And with a computer in today's world, it is so easy to "delete" people at the drop of a hat, for whatever reason. The opportunities and desires of getting to know someone for who they truly are or may be, with time and conversation, seems to be a long lost art form. Lets face it, how long ago was it that you were able to sit down with a complete stranger, get a glimpse of their inner being, want to find out more about them and what makes them tick? Probably been awhile right? While I can understand this fact to a point, in this day and age, people just seem to be so wrapped up in their own lives and feel that they can't afford the luxury of time or effort to get to know sombody else on a deeper level. Kinda makes me wonder why they would be on here to begin with if that was the case?

Anyway, what can I tell you about myself, short of the fact I don't really like talking about myself. I guess, what I am truly searching for is just what everyone else on this site is seeking out, a little bit of HAPPINESS. That one special friend who if given the chance, can make me stop in my tracks and wonder where she has been all of my life. A woman who is self confident, intelligent and has a mind of her own. Can think on her feet yet is open to new thoughts and ideas and willing to share her life and dreams. Someone who is young at heart, yet a bit sarcastic, and willing to laugh, even if it is at themselves. Someone who doesn't fall into love too soon but is also not afraid of that dreaded "C" word: "COMMITMENT". If you have ever been on the YOUTUBE website, seen the "Free Hugs Campaign" and video and it touched you on some kind of deep emotional level, then you will have some idea of what I am about. If you can classify friends/relationships into three different categories: A REASON-A SEASON-A LIFETIME, and truly understand the differences between them, then again, we would be on the same page so to speak.

Well hopefully by this time, we have chatted a bit and decided to actually get to this point to find out if that elusive "spark" is there. Something simple, like a coffee or meeting at a local pub, like the Dingy Dock, for a burger and beer. Then maybe a walk along one of the local beaches or lakes in the evening to enjoy the sunset and an ice cream. As our first up close and personal visual encounter should be as non-stressful as possible, that might be a good place to start.
