It can be so difficult to describe oneself, without the proverbial characteristics everyone uses in these profiles. "I'm honest, easy going, I have a good sense of humor, confident"...blah blah blah. So rather than have you read another monotonous profile, I'd much rather give you an idea of who I am by telling you a few of my favorite things...well a lot of them actually: Summer thunderstorms, a great pair of shoes, reggae music, rollercoasters, Thanksgiving dinner, the greeting from my dog when I walk through the door, chocolate jelly rings, a summer BBQ, an ice cold corona, finding a piece of seaglass left on the beach, a phone call from my Mom, elephants, digging my toes in the sand, the peace I experience within myself when I step foot inside a church, fall football games, an old pair of blue jeans white tulips, the innocence of a child, snorkeling & scuba diving, pizza, the smell of the ocean air, sitting and watching a fire, the crunchies in the middle of an ice cream cake, listening to my niece play the piano, trampolines, sushi, learning something new, margaritas, St. Maartin, backrubs, summer concerts, receiving an unexpected letter or package at my door, giving and getting hugs, scary movies, summer baseball games, baking chocolate chip cookies, the sound of waves crashing on the shore line, laughing with my sisters till our stomachs ache and tears run down our cheeks, the warmth of the sun upon my face, a first kiss, four-wheeling on the beach(even if you get stuck and it begins to rain) fingerpainting, Strawberries sprinkled with sugar, spooning, going to the dentist(JK-wanted to see if u were still reading) looking at old family photos, taking great new photos, the sound of freshly fallen snow, a drink with an umbrella, hearing the bagpipes play "amazing grace", manicures/pedicures, hearing my Dad tell me that I've made him proud, shopping, lobster smothered in butter, playing chutes and ladders with my nieces and nephews, the strength I get after a great workout, lighting sparklers on the 4th of July, the power of an undertow beneath my feet, believing without ever seeing, getting lost in someone's eyes, building sand castles, the loyalty and trust of my friends and family, and not ever really knowing what the future holds.
"Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it's what's in the middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope a chance to float up. And it will."
