I suppose I should start with an abridged version of me: I've been in Chapel Hill for about two years and a half and was born and raised in northern Virginia. After years as a litigation paralegal (go Erin Brockovich) I packed up the pooches, sold the condo, and turned to the green pastures of North Carolina for a change of pace and possibly to go back to school. I am working on the great North American novel and have dreams that Spielberg will adapt it for the screen LOL. D.C. taught me that life should be enjoyed as much as possible and spent doing things that I value with someone I care about.

I'm a kind, caring, fun (everyone on Match is!) and romantic person and am very sentimental. My friends, family, and my two little dogs are very important to me and I spend a great deal of time with them. I'm a high energy person and I love doing all sorts of fun activities with a date. I'm pretty much a hopeless romantic (If you've watched Sex and the City, you'll find that I am a total Carrie Bradshaw). Movies I like include, Serendipity, You've Got Mail, As Good as It Gets, and While You Where Sleeping – I am a sucker for chick-flicks, romance, roses, and well-written letters). I love movies (foreign, domestic, independent, etc) and wish I could make a career about watching them.

I am five feet seven weighing in at 122 pounds (I watch my weight religiously) with ash blonde hair and am of Belgium/Celtic decent. I'm not a girly-girl but I like getting dressed up every so often but am equally relaxed in jeans. Things I like and do include: South Park (I love Butters), Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler and Austin Powers movies, working-out (yuck- but I do it), Animal Planet, Turner Classic Movies, science fiction novels, tennis, swimming, Maroon 5, power-naps, talking on the phone when minutes are free, red wine, a nice book or magazine with a cup of coffee on a Saturday morning, libraries, window shopping, Italian and French cuisine, and a good walk with the dogs.

My perfect match is intelligent, well-mannered, exciting, and fun, but is kind, caring and loyal. I think kindness is the most important thing someone should possess. He should be mature and responsible but have a silly side (think Ace Ventura pet detective) and doesn't take himself too seriously. Intelligence is great but he should have a heart.

Now for the fine print: I love to flirt and share great conversation with a man but I am pretty old-fashioned and still believe that relationships should be monogamous (what's the point if it isn't?) I'm ultimately looking for “the one” (References to mohitos and an invitation to a “Nelson tradition of hot tubbing” – major bonus points if you can name the movie - just won't be appreciated. About me

I think a first date should be fun and not a painful experience but two people getting to know each other. I think a really nice restaurant or a little cafe with the possiblity to go for a walk in the evening and learn more about one another is a nice date. Dinner and a movie is nice but maybe that is something better for a second date.
