Getting back into the dating scene I'm discovering that age is more a mental state than a physical counting. It's possible to be responsible but still young at heart and up-to-date on current events, entertainment and music.

I'd like to date someone who shares some of my interests - but who has his own likes and is confident in who he is.

I'd rather see a movie with big special effects, car chases and explosions over romance or 'drama' any day. Some of my favorites are X-men, Batman - the ones with Christian Bale, 300, and Equilibrium. On the rare occasions I watch a chick flick, it has to have comedy and a serious lack of backstabbing, game playing females. Something like PS I love you or Last Holiday.

If you're into the Jerry Springer style life, I'm not the person for you. I'm straight-forward, honest and have a strong dislike for game playing. If you're married and/or looking for a one night stand - please move on to the next woman's profile.

Visiting the city is nice for a date or occasional vacation, but I'm a country girl who likes heavy metal music: Disturbed, Nightwish, Blind Guardian - though I also have a few Will Smith songs on my MP3 player. You don't have to share my taste in music - so long as we can compromise and you don't ask me to listen to country or bluegrass.

I'm constantly learning and reading about new things as well as writing. I write fantasy, science fiction and non-fiction. Favorite authors are: Lois Bujold, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs and Janet Evanovich.

Something simple. For a first meeting I prefer some place low pressure, a coffee shop or small cafe. Some place to just talk and see if we click.
