I am recently retired from teaching and am now operating a small beef farm in rural Southwest Missouri. I really enjoy the quiet and secluded lifestyle that I have chosen. I am in excellent shape physically, mentally and financially. I enjoy about anything you can do out-of-doors such as canoeing, hiking, biking, gardening, camping, walking, short road trips, etc. I also enjoy inside activities like reading, watching old movies, sitting by the fireplace, cooking,live music, museums, plays, good conversation, etc. I really think that whatever you like to do for fun is much more enjoyable when shared with a special friend. I do spend some time on a regular basis doing different forms of "community service" type work--volunteering that helps others as a way of trying to "pay back" my own many blessings.

A good first date would be one that allows both of us to be able to relax, be ourselves and just talk to each other. I think a good start would be a good, healthy meal at a causal dining spot to enjoy food and "break the ice". Afterwards we could do something that allows us to get to know one another ever better such as a walk, a short drive, site seeing, just sitting and talking or what ever seems appropriate.
