About Me
I'm a studio art major at The University of Texas in Austin, focusing on painting and animation. Not exactly the most fluid combination, especially when I get the paint on the computer screen. Primarily, I consider myself a comic artist, as in one who draws comics, because, well...I do. And I'm very much the comic book geek...science fiction geek as well. Pencil me in for some Stargate or Doctor Who any day of the week. Rub my tummy and throw in a few Spider-Man comics too and you've got a friend for life.
I like a variety of things, not all of them geeky, but I am pretty big on TV, movies, and pop culture in general. I like alternative and J-Rock (Japanese rock) music, with some of my favorite bands being: Our Lady Peace, Green Day, lostprophets, Orange Range, and BEAT Crusaders. I don't read as much as I used to but my favorite book has always been Ender's Game, and I really like the whole Ender series as well as anything written by Orson Scott Card. I'm a big fan of Joss Whedon too, though he write more screenplays and for TV shows (Firefly, Buffy, and Angel are awesome, in my opinion) and comics than actual books.
I'm a pretty honest person, though I will admit, a bit shy. I've been trying to put myself out there more, and hopefully that'll help. With great effort comes great progress...or was it responsibility, I forget. All joking aside, I don't think this profile could ever say enough about who I am. There's just way too much to say, and not enough easily comes to mind. The only way to get an idea of who I am is to talk to me and find out.
As for the kind of person I'm looking for, at the moment, I'm pretty open. I tend to get along with girls who lean toward a geekier side, but I can just as easily get along with girls who are just artsy in general. I like girls who have an interest in the arts (whether it's just music, art, writing or some combination.) And I always appreciate someone who is honest, funny, and doesn't mind random humor.
First Date
Well, to be honest, I haven't really been part of the dating scene, but I think for a first date it would be important to keep things light, since usually it's the "getting to know you" date. I would probably plan something that revolves around mutual interests, with the usual dinner and fun conversation thrown in.
