About Me
My friends have described me as a "renaissance man," but I do not paint the ceilings of chapels or carve statues out of marble. I have hiked alone with 40 lbs of camera gear to within 200 feet of the continental divide to photograph a railroad tunnel blasted through the Rocky Mountains in the 1800's, but most of the time you'll find me hanging out in my new home listening to music (sometimes loud), drinking some beers, cooking gourmet food (at least trying), building a model railroad, tending my garden, making things out of steel, and vacuuming; oh yea, sometimes in the evening I'll watch a movie or go to a concert or a club.
I am a 52 year old psychologist who, as Van Morrison says, has "a brand new day" after 32 years of marriage. In the 60's I was a hippie; in the 70's a theological student preparing for the ministry; in the 80's a graduate student in psychology; in the 90's confused; in the 00's I'm happier and more excited than I've ever been. I'm ready to draw upon all of the lessons learned through a half a century of life to enjoy a mature intense relationship with a woman of compatible soul. One of the lessons I have learned is that genuine love is a gift from the universe that is not given frequently. If I am fortunate enough to be offered that gift again, I intend to take very good care of it.
I am looking for a meaningful, intense, long-term love relationship (as long as it's good for both of us) with a woman who is honest, trustworthy, loving, fun and totally enthusiastic about "us." I have a lot to offer, and I am looking for the same in return. I desire a woman who is a rare combination of a "homebody" but who likes to go out and have fun, risk adventure, who can connect at a deep level while valuing her own space and mine, and who can be both romantic and practical.
I believe that you are out there, somewhere. If you'd like to embark on what might the adventure of a lifetime, talk to me.
First Date
Meet for a nice, quiet, relaxed dinner. Take a walk and talk in the cool evening air. Listen to some live music with couple of drinks. Feel the magic ...! Oh wait - I was asked to describe a "first" date; I think I just described a "third" date. Let's see, a first date: meet for coffee, lunch, or dinner, talk a lot, and get a sense for whether there will ever be a third date.
