ME:
6’0”, 165 lbs, br hair, hazel eyes.

Born: Virginia, the year that JFK, C.S. Lewis and Aldous Huxley died. Oldest of five, two black sheep in the family. I’m one of them.

Ancestry: shepherds, farmers and fisherman from Scotland, Ireland and Saxony. My people settled in the hill country of Virginia and Pennsylvania. They’re still there.

Sampling of towns I have lived in: Roanoke, VA; Quito, Ecuador; Wheaton, IL; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Kodiak, AK; Madrid and Sevilla, Spain. Two of my favorite towns: New York and Cudillero, in the north of Spain.

Trades I have worked in: ditch digging, bike messengering, carpentry, seining and long-lining (North Pacific), corporate law (NYC), technology startups (Spain, Argentina); real estate development (southern Europe).

Books by my bed now: Infinite Jest, David Foster Wallace; The Search for Modern China; Smart Negotiating, Freund; the Bible.

My weaknesses: plenty of them, but I'm working to beat them.

My strengths: may you find out.

3. Find good Spanish tapas and a great Ribera red to go with them.
