Before you even read my profile...if the best you can come up with for a first email is "hi" or "hello there" or just "how are you" then please don't expect a response.

I found the fish personality part of the profile entertaining. One might wonder why a six and a half foot solidly-built guy would choose a tiny Damselfish. Any divers out there know the answer? The little Damselfish tenaciously defends his family and what is his against all comers, no matter how large. A true example of natural courage and a model to live a life by.

I am first and foremost a father of great kids. I try to stay active with my kids and with things around my home. During part of the year I am a fencing coach and that adds a little something different. In the summer I spend time in my garden and quiet evenings on my yard swing. I can cook and take care of everything around the house but I would like to find a friend to share some local entertainment. A play, some music, some dancing, a walk along the riverside, maybe even a movie without the kids, lol. I want to find someone who can walk through Winterfair with me and share in the appreciation and the things that make me smile in nearly every booth. I would like to meet someone who is bright, learned, self confident and is not afraid to call me on it if do something stupid. I think I am thoughtful, passionate about the things and those people who are important to me and would hopefully find the same in a partner. I can tell you that my marriage ended primarily due to emotional illness (not mine) and while I love a good roller coaster, sometimes the ride can be a little too rough, so I would eventually like to find emotional stability in a relationship as well. A female friend recently told me that I will be just fine in the dating world because I am a "whole package". I thank her for the compliment but its also something you would have to decide for yourself. I keep reading how much women want to find someone who is honest. Well....here he his. I guess its official, the papers are all signed and it will be back to the single life for me.

~I am a bit of a sports fan, especially college basketball but it doesn't play a huge role in what I do
~There are a lot of improvements I would like to make on my house if I ever have the time and resources
~I like to dance but am not very good at it (took some salsa lessons but need a partner)
~I have no musical talent, but appreciate music that much more
~I can procrastinate with the best
~I am a gift giver by nature, though they may be simple
~The best days of my life are sitting in my yard swing watching my kids play in the yard and being happy

A little about who would be “ideal” for me
~She is self-confident
~She is bright

~She is above average in height (not a deal breaker but it would be nice not to need a chiropractor after a dance)
~She will ideally be 36-47 (not absolute and don't know why, just seems to sound right)
~She will enjoy working outside with me around the house and garden
~She likes walking in the woods and on the beach as much as I do
~She'll make an effort to stay in shape and take care of herself
~She will have a fashion sense that does not include coveralls or jeans with waistlines up to her ribcage
~She’s not afraid to try something new and different
~She surprises me sometimes
~She is sexy as hell, knows it and knows how to use it
~She will have a hefty, healthy sex drive herself
~She can be the picture of class when appropriate and still be naughty at the right times too
~She will not be shy with affection
~She’s not afraid to do things that will get my attention and get my blood boiling

PS. If the photo you really want to share has you wearing a pair of coveralls or sticking your tongue out at the camera, well....we probably are not very compatible.

I don't have a standard first date, although coffee shops have become quite popular for first meetings. I can't say what a first date would be without knowing more about who the date would be first.
