About Me
If you could go anywhere, if you could be anything...Where would you go? What would you do? Where does your passion lead you?
Before we go too much further, know that I'm not just another guy looking for another date for the weekend. I'm making serious plans to head off on an adventure about a year from now, and would love to find a partner to share it with. What kind of adventure you might ask? The world. Slowly. Slow enough to really see it and smell it and taste it and experience it. And sometimes it'll get rough, but that's why its called adventure! I know this won't appeal to most, but is it for you? How bad is your wanderlust?
Still reading? Well then, about me.
On the outdoors: Greeting the morning sun from the screened doorway of a small tent in the middle of nowhere, while watching the mist rise off the earth is a quiet thrill that’s hard to match. I see more evidence of the divine in a forest than I ever have in a church.
Professionally, I repair houses. I have also been a hydrogeologic cartographer, and a full-time parent.
Travel: I really enjoy travel, preferring quiet/low impact modes of transport to go anywhere from popular places to wandering on the road less traveled. I have visited Botswana, Malaysia, Tokyo, and lived for half a year in India. Lets go somewhere really exotic! Note: I'm not into motorcycles, quads, jetskis, and their ilk.
About you: I'm looking for enthusiasm. You may be the greatest lover or birdwatcher or tiddly winks player, but do you greet each morning excited about whatever may come? Even if the activity du jour isn't your favorite, do you jump in with both feet anyway? It would be unreasonable to expect to meet someone here or anywhere who is 'perfect'. So I'm looking for a partner who can compliment my interests and abilities, and fill in the missing areas, and where I can do likewise for you.
First Date
First date? Meet and chat, perhaps go for a walk. A coffee shop is good, or an outdoor concert in a park - like Ann Arbor's Top of the Park.
After that, however...
As I mentioned above, I love to travel. Now, I wouldn't expect anybody to want to go too far afield on a first date, or even a second. Someday I'd like to take a trip off the beaten path with you. But first we gotta build trust and discover each other's skills and abilities and interests.
If we get that far, where's the end? How 'bout a bicycle ride down the Pacific Coast? or around the World? Where would you go?
