Looking to hang out, looking to have some fun - if the chemistry is right. I don't want to make any assumptions about where things are going, and would prefer to hang with someone who isn't making any assumptions of their own. Let's just see...
What I like:
Someone I can have fun with, laugh and be silly with.
Someone I can have intelligent, interesting conversations with - about the state of the world, about the things that have impacted our lives, about what happened on the subway today on the way to work.
Someone who respects women. Really. REALLY. Someone who doesn't use the word "lady" instead of "woman" and who can explain why in an essay of 250 words or less (joking).
Someone who cares about the ills of society - racism, homophobia, sexism, economic deprivation and exploitation, colonial oppression - and is concerned with not contributing further to those oppressions. (Yes, I can be very serious in addition to being very silly...)
Someone who is honest and respectful - no matter how serious or casual their connection with the other person.
Someone who enjoys some of the same interests, or who is at least willing to explore sharing our diverse interests.
Someone who is maybe a little off-beat, eccentric in some way - not overly conventional. But that can mean a lot of things.
That being said, I'm open to meeting different people who may or may not fit all of the above descriptors - though some are non-negotiable, it's not an exact science...
