About Me
I'm a generalist, not a specialist.
I choose time over money.
I'm a bit of a spaz sometimes, but I'm ok with it.
I consider "because it's fun" to be an entirely valid justification for most anything.
I like being friends with boys more than I like being friends with girls.
I think shoes should make walking easier, not harder.
I'm probably smarter than you.
I think punctuality is overrated.
I like to push myself to try things I'm not going to be good at.
I like knowing where my food comes from.
I think staying at a resort negates the purpose of traveling.
I like lists.
I'm also capable of writing complete sentences and paragraphs, though I do find it a bit awkward to write about myself.
I try to live a fairly simple but full life. I made the conscious decision about a year ago to spend less time working and more time enjoying and exploring life and the world. Best decision I ever made (well, that and ditching Ontario). It's extremely liberating to realize how unimportant and boring money and the act of buying things really are.
I'm pretty relaxed, with occasional bouts of giddiness (often coinciding with sunny days). I can enjoy boisterous crowds and chaos in small doses, but prefer being places that are less overwhelming (pubs over bars, side roads over highways, off-season over peak,...).
I scowl (or smirk) at people who expect me to do things simply because "that's the way it's done". I'm often tempted to do whatever signs tell me explicitly not to, and I figure big red buttons are made to be pushed. I'm really bad at pretending to like people when I don't.
I strive for moderation in most things, in part because I'm not principled or disciplined enough for extremes. I'm mostly a vegetarian, mostly recycle, mostly don't shop at walmart, mostly take care of my body, mostly act considerately,... but you know, there's always room for exceptions.
I'm not entirely clear on what I'm looking for here. As a start, I suppose I'd just like the chance to meet some different and interesting people that I wouldn't otherwise run into. In theory, I guess I'd also like to meet the super awesomest guy in the world and live happily ever after, but I'm a wee bit too much of a cynic to expect that...
