I think the NBA, Andrew Lloyd Weber musicals, Jerry Seinfeld, rap music, Roots fashions, Star Wars and most other big-budget American films are some of the more over-rated things around; while Steve Earle, the CFL, Ricky Gervais, cheese buns from the Harbourd Bakery, foreign films and being alive are some of the more under-rated things going. Bruce Springsteen, Ricky Gervais' The Office (not the American version) and Brideshead Revisited seem to have generated an appropriate buzz, as far as I'm concerned. While financially secure, I tend to be more interested in the sorts of things that money can't buy.

First dates are so...awkward. There's probably a thousand things to do, though, from the traditional to the more adventurous and I'd be game to do almost anything. But in order to safely determine whether a second date is in order, it might be best to go tried and true -- get out somewhere for a brief conversation...lunch somewhere or the traditional coffee -- at a Second Cup rather than a Starbucks.
