I would say a little over two years ago I decided I needed a change in the way I had been living. Not that there was anything wrong with my old way of life but it just started to feel empty, tired and in dire need of something more. I reflected heavy on where I was, what I wanted out of life and how I should go about getting where I want to be. I decided to start going back to church, something I really hadn't done since I left home shortly after high school to pursue a college degree. I started meeting with a few men's church groups and have met some fantastic people in doing so that helped me keep with my new positive way of life. I started volunteering when I can and found an incredible joy in helping others. I’ve come to realize life isn’t about living for myself, but it's about helping others and enjoying the time we have with family and friends and even people we may not know yet.

I’ve been told I tend to be black and white, cut and dry, always measuring/calculating and for the most part very straight forward. I speak with few filters (can be blunt at times, which may come off a bit rude or cold) but it's just me and I don't ever mean to be rude, its just how I am. I’m a good listener and have also been told numerous times, I speak with knowledge beyond my age. I’m extremely patient and understanding, probably to a fault. I enjoy diversity and trying anything most others wouldn’t think twice about trying. I feel sampling all aspects of life gives a person a full perspective which helps to greater understand others and life in general. All-in-all, I am a bit quiet and independent, have never really needed to depend on anyone or felt like I need to, but I would like to ultimately find someone I can be an equal to.

For leisure: I enjoy most types of movies but tend to watch idiotic comedies. You know the ones you don’t have to think too much about to enjoy. Just having a few friends over, a pizza and some beers type of movie. A few recent favs are Super Bad, Step Brothers and Tropic Thunder. My greatest passion in life is designing and building things around the house and houses in general. I’m often found at my computer drafting up some crazy scheme for my next home remodeling project or gift for someone. I recently designed and built a cradle for my newly born nephew (first time being an uncle, and a Godfather at that!). What a joy he is! The cradle also included a carving of a scene from Peter and the Rabbit, to match their baby room theme. Other projects include my fully remodeled kitchen, a custom built-in entertainment center and just recently my cousin and I fully finished my brothers basement with a wet bar and all the audio video goodness we guys love. :D I also really enjoy the outdoors. From skiing (cross country and down hill), mnt. bike trail riding, hiking, camping, boating and even hunting/fishing. I love to cook and feel I know my way around a kitchen (as long as I don't have to bake it or measure ingredients, I can cook it, haha). The list goes on and on as I enjoy a plethora of hobbies to keep myself entertained.

As far as looks go, I'm sort of the average/athletic/wide shoulder type of guy. I try to keep in shape by swimming and running but I don't get too carried away with the whole working out / gym nut deal, lol. I am currently working through P90X though and really enjoy it. I do tend to eat healthy, love to cook and like to read good health articles.

Who I’m looking for: Someone that's up for anything and open to new adventures (not narrow minded or stubborn). I want a girl that is happy with life/herself and is looking for that special someone to settle down with. I don’t want the girl looking for the knight in shinning armor, that man only exists in fairytales. Instead, I’m looking for a girl that can easily show her loving and caring side to a man that can lead her through life while being his equal. Sounds simple enough right? ;) I am looking for the girl that likes to get dressed up but prefers jeans, a baseball cap and maybe even one of my shirts? A girl that doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty (serious about this one, lol) in a garden or spending time outdoors. I also believe that a relationship should be a partnership each person brings certain strengths to that each other can grow from. I am not uptight at all and would actually prefer the type of girl that would see the added humor in making a subtle joke at the most inappropriate of times. Someone who is neat and clean for the most part but can still enjoy being a bum for a weekend every once in a great while. Someone that finds the connection between us in all the wrong ways, perhaps? I almost feel too many people are looking for perfection and not the underlying connection that will make you want to stay with someone even if they lose that new car feel, haha. Ultimately, I’m looking for a best friend and partner.

Also, as odd as this may sound, I have a rule of 3 pics on your profile or emailed to me at a minimum if you ever expect me to meet you in person. It may sound intrusive, perverted, or whatever other negative connotation you may want to put with it, but one pic can lie too much, three tend to show who you really are. Looks aren't everything, but I want that physical spark along with everything else mentioned above...
