I'm a healthy single 48-year-old. I'm here at PoF for dating and potentially testing deeper waters. I have no kids but love to play w/kids and take them to the movies, zoo, etc. I like travel and would love to find someone to travel with overseas -- Europe, Asia, S. America.

I work as a researcher/writer with sometimes odd/flexible hours (depending on inspiration/deadlines/workload). I like to lounge around reading but once I get going I have lots of energy. I don't play golf very often but used to be good at it. I don't play tennis, but do play paddle-tennis. I like to bike to stay in shape, and love DC's biking terrain (better than Chicago -- where I'm from).

I live and work (both) in the city, off the Red Line, which is why I don't have/need a car. But I do zipcar when necessary.

I'm big on reading (and love to exchange favorite lists), concerts, long walks w/conversation around the city, theater, indy/doc movies, swimming (I love swimming and lounging by the pool at Haines Pt. on sunny days), and used book stores. My musical tastes are eclectic. In past few years I've seen the Pixies, Patti Smith, Billy Bragg, Waco Brothers, Mos Def, Springsteen, Robyn Hitchcock and others.

Talk over coffee/drinks at the cafe at the National Gallery. Or Thai Chef. Go to a flea market or take an outdoor hike or bike ride. I'd even do something more challenging like skydiving.
