About Me
My physical description is so average, that you could never pick me out of a crowd, or a line-up for that matter.
Although I have many interests, I could not pick one and say that I am fanatical about it. In no particular order, I like photography; travel - foreign and domestic; humor; the internet; beach combing; bicycle riding; hiking; snorkeling; many kinds of music; sports and sports cars; conversation - humorous - intellectual - philosophical - intimate; reading; movies; theater; museums and being my own handy man. I tried snow skiing for the first time a few years ago, and look forward to future ski trips. I have tried tennis and sailing but only at an introductory level. I would also like to give rollerblading and scuba diving a try. These activities and keeping up with friends and family keep me busy and amused and usually happy, but what I really lack is a soul-mate with whom I can share the good and even occasional bad times.
I recently retired from a career as a design engineer and then a support engineer, both of which I enjoyed for nearly forty years and although it was stimulating, I am also delighting in this new phase of my life.
I would like to meet a woman who shares some, but not necessarily all of my interests, and might even get me interested in some activities that I have not yet tried, or even considered. So drop me a line.
As I re-read this ad, it seems to have a tone that is entirely too serious, which is unusual, as I believe that my sense of humor is one of my strongest traits.
First Date
In two words: GET ACQUAINTED! Meeting someone through this kind of service is much like a blind date, which leads me to prefer a first date that is casual enough that neither party feels stressed or pressured. Meeting in a park or coffee shop or casual restaurant is pretty easy and non-threatening. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't consider another arrangement, but I don't recommend something like a movie because all we learn about each other is if he or she laughs and cries at the right time. The best part of a first/blind date is mutually deciding what to do for the second one.
