I like to stay up late and sleep in in the morning, yet I tend to get up early even when I don't have to because I like to make breakfast. (Nothin better than french toast or eggs florentine to get your day started).

I am adventurous, spontaneous, high energy and believe in living life to the fullest. I hate going to the gym, but I do love the feeling I get after a good workout -- so I tend to do outdoor activities (cycling, kayaking, hiking, yet I'll make an exception for indoor rock climbing.

I'm up for trying anything . . . . I've gone to trapeze school, rocked out with freaky looking clowns, and spun fire around my head and didn't burn myself. While I love adventure, I do enjoy kicking back at home, cooking dinner and relaxing on the couch and watching a movie.

Travel, photography and exploring are passions of mine. I love to explore new places. It can be in a foreign country or right here in the Bay Area. I've traveled to more than 28 countries and try to take a trip every year.

I believe anything can be learned and you are never too old to start something new. I have a home library of many how to books. I've done all the typical house projects from electricity, plumbing, building a fence, painting, landscaping, masonry, tiling and wood refinishing to setting up a home network and server. Right now I'm learning french cooking and salsa dancing - what better way to work off a french meal than to go salsa dancing.

I love the color of light and how it plays on surfaces at sunset - it can make a dilapidated building look romantic, a tree look mournful, sad and somber and creates an energetic sparkle and glow on the face.

I don't believe in laying blame on others when things don't turn out as planned and instead I look at what I could have done differently. This helps me grow, learn and become more prepared for the next time I encounter a similar situation.

I am the world's best uncle (my niece loves me!) and nothing is more fun than when I visit and she wakes me up in the morning and asks me to read a story to her (Don't worry - she is only 2.5 years old not 20).

I believe that indulgence is good, as long as it is in moderation. A massage after a hard day is a great way to relax. Yet so is going salsa dancing on a Wednesday night and having a beer, margarita and/or mojito (it might have been a very hard day :))

Of all our senses, I think many don't appreciate smell and the power it has on memories. Some smells are hard to define, but they take you back to a time and place in your life. Some of my favorite smells are Tahoe in the winter, fresh cut grass, spring rain, freshly baked cinnamon toast, vanilla, and clean laundry.

I enjoy cycling, skiing, hiking, water slides, and zorbing (What could be more fun than being like a hamster riding around on the inside of a giant inflatable ball?)

I believe a man should be chivalrous, open doors and walk on the outside of the sidewalk.

A true partner who is confident, outgoing, positive, passionate, enjoys hanging out with their friends, lives a healthy lifestyle and loves to laugh - even if you are laughing at me and my inability to golf. I am attracted to smart, witty women who enjoy life, are up for adventure and don't mind getting dirty in the garden or at the beach, but also enjoy cleaning up to go out for a night on the town - be it a club, fine dining, or the theater.

My ideal match should have great communication skills and I especially appreciate honest, direct, low drama women who aren't afraid to say it like it is.

Ultimately I am drawn to women who have a true duchenne smile. It can't be faked and is a window to the personality, mood and soul. I want someone who believes the best part of the day is coming home and seeing their partner smile.
