I am an independent, strong-willed woman. I love coffee, chocolate and cats, not necessarily in that order. I'm not one to mince words and I call people on their bullsh!t quite frequently. I have a problem with self-deceivers.

I love really bad horror movies, and good ones as well. I still watch star trek, so I guess I'm a geek!

I am fascinated by all that is mysterious and unexplained. I am somewhat well-educated, well-read and have no tolerance for self-imposed ignorance, but I'm not a snob. I DESPISE pro sports (except hockey, eh, I'm Canadian) but I do like playing pool and golf, running, yoga and working out.

Professional wrestling, Football, Oprah Winfrey and Jerry Springer are not allowed in my house. I like science, philosophy and well, anything that attempts to explain the mysteries of our universe. I love satire, sarcasm, dry wit, and Mr. Bean! Dorothy Parker might have been narcissistic, but what a wit! I don't believe in growing old and refuse to tow the line of my peers in fashion and attitude and apathy. Childlike at times, but rarely childish.

I admire people who are committed to personal growth - the seekers. Those who quit growing and changing are half dead already..Life is for living! I love to cook, when I get a chance to, and am leaning towards vegetarianism. I am a liberal politically (actually a Green) and deeply believe in freedom. For all.

I am a goddess, in more ways than one, and also ridiculously human. I am pagan/new age sort of - labels are tooo confining really to describe my spiritual leanings, mystic might be more accurate but spirituality means a lot to me, religion, not so much it's something I love to discuss in a philisophical way. True conservatives, or those with traditional religious views, especially evangelical or charismatic born again christians might not be too comfortable with me. I relish a good scriptural debate!

I have experienced the most joy from being a mother to my daughter - Parenthood is marvelous. Tough sometimes, but worth every second.

I love this planet and will do whatever I can to protect it. It's my home!

Music - I really love and need music in my life. I'd much rather have the stereo on than the TV. It feeds my soul. Music is the one thread I hold on to when I think the whole planet is inhabited by the lost, the sleepwalkers, insane and the evil.. and hope is gone. These moments are brief and usually brought on by watching too much network news.

I love my career. I work hard and sometimes long hours.. but I love what I do. I can't imagine sitting at home doing nothing for very long - though a year in Europe just backpacking around sounds pretty damn good.

I'm a very proud Canadian, and love canadian humour ala Rick Mercer. We are blessed in this country, both democracy and social conscience in concert. Not perfect but still one of the best in the world. And most Canadians are really great people.

I'm not really looking for a partner, I have issues with the whole "The One" concept and keep going back to Zarathustra on B5.. "We live for THE ONE, we die for THE ONE" - then I get the giggles and the whole romantic feel just slips away.

I just kind of ended up here during a long session of random surfing... but I'm interested in meeting new people I'm not a typical woman, at all. I need my independence and freedom, it's like air to me... but I enjoy good company and have a great capacity for true realtionships based on honor and respect.

I need my alone time and plenty of space to be myself. Without it I tend to lose myself in others - I guess I am at a point where I don't need to be joined at the hip - but companionship is a joy to be treasured too. Balance.

I believe real friends are rare and one of life's greatest treasures. I'm always up for making a new friend.

I mostly enjoy people who have deep personal courage, and are not afraid to push the envelope a bit and try new things. I am a very intense person and like to delve deep and see what makes things tick. Complacency, apathy AND mediocrity are death in my eyes. Original thinkers and those who are "outside the box" are usually my favourite companions. Quirky is good - eccentric is needed in our little cookie cutter culture.

Minivans are the enemy. I call them Stepford Drives!
