About Me
So let’s see if I can keep this from being as boring as most of the ads I read.
I’m Vince, 47, thin build, father of 2 boys, cats and a dog, looking for those that are quick with a smile & a quip. Here's what you get with me.
I’m just a regular, hard-working guy who enjoys his not working hours. In the summer that means taking my bike on poker runs, hanging at the beach or pool club, enjoying the bbq with a cold Budweiser and trying to slow the complexities of life down to a crawl. In the winter, that means hitting up Giants stadium for a Jets tailgate, watching kid friendly DVDs, cooking, wrenching on a motorcycle in the garage, and doing my best to stay warm.
Time has shown me that forgiveness is divine. And I’ve learned that the A list is most important to ANY successful relationship: Affection & Attention. Without them…we are nothing.
I tend to keep a small, close circle of friends who have seen me through thick and thin. I do enjoy going out to check out bands, and usually end up in Red Bank, since it's close to my house, for that. Musically I prefer the sounds of a live band, but will listen to almost anything. I gravitate to the sounds of Springsteen, Lou Reed, anything bluesy, and country. A little eclectic, but it makes for a good party mix.
I am more of a homebody rather than a party animal. I own my house in Sayreville, and am constantly trying little DIY projects. Next one you ask? I was buying materials for a bathroom remodel, but I have since bought a 1974 Honda CB750 that I am making into a bobber. My kids think it's more rewarding to work on the bike, so the bathroom waits...
The things that I find MOST important in life are the simple things that many people take for granted: good friends, good food, good health and a house filled with laughter.
Robert Brault may have summed it up best for the way I look at life today. He said: "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things".
BUT:
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy sh*t.....what a ride!'
FYI, IMs are blocked at my job, so if I do not answer you during the workweek, you now know why.
Some miscellaneous things I Love:
The sounds of my kid's laughter The roar of my motorcycle staring up A cold Bud can on a hot summer afternoon after cutting the grass Sand between my toes Pro Football with snacks (go Eagles!) Cooking Sushi with wasabi Stripping & cleaning old motorcycles A full tank of gas...I haven't figured this one out Bruce Springsteen playing on the radio Flea market perusing Sausage, peppers, & onions sandwiches from Midway Sitting on the beach under my umbrella in 100 degree temps and my water bottle sprayer Food shopping - it relaxes me Hamburgers & hot dogs on the grill Linguini & white clam sauce Chips & dip
Favorite Sports teams: NFL - Eagles, followed by the Jets Baseball - Yankees, followed by Phillies NHL - Devils Minor league baseball - Somerset Patriots
I recently saw an Esquire article regarding dating titled "What is a man?". Here are my favorites from that...
-A man is good at his job. Not his work, not his avocation, not his hobby. Not his career. His job. It doesn't matter what his job is, because if a man doesn't like his job, he gets a new one. -A man looks out for those around him -- family (I added this), friend, woman, stranger. -A man gets the door. Without thinking. -A man watches. Sometimes he goes and sits at an auction knowing he won't spend a dime, witnessing the temptation and the maneuvering of others. Sometimes he stands on the street corner watching stuff. This is not about quietude so much as collection. It is not about meditation so much as considering. A man refracts his vision and gains acuity. This serves him in every way. No one taught him this; to be quiet, to cipher, to watch. In this way, in these moments, the man is like a zoo animal: both captive and free. You cannot take your eyes off a man when he is like that. You shouldn't. Who knows what he is thinking, who he is, or what he will do next.

First Date
I like simple things on a first date. Playing a game or two of skeeball or pinball would be nice if the weather permits.
