Hi there! I've heard so much about this site and thought I should check it out. I'm still looking for my Mr. Right. I haven't really been 'looking'...more like 'hoping' he'd 'fall into my lap'

so to speak ...but that doesn't seem to be working.
I'm hoping to find a man with good morals and values, has a great sense of humor, is caring and loving and has both a strong and soft side to him. He doesn't like drugs, and is turned off from people who are conceited/arrogant/transparent.
I love dancing, most music (not rapcrap), and really enjoy going to my sister's cottage where we kick back at the firepit, have a drink or two (or three) and joke around. I really enjoy being with friends, going to socials and basically having a good time...I mean, who doesn't like that?!
I have a criminology degree (but that's not what my job is about) and am writing 2 books...very lengthy projects (almost 14 years - YIKES!!!).
I've been told on different occasions that I'm outgoing, intelligent, mischievious (I know a lot of great jokes...and even a few clean ones!), and open to ideas. (Btw, it seems that the funnier things aren't jokes at all but little things that happen in life and you just kinda expand on them, you know? ) I've also been told that I'm a bit "rough around the edges"...well that simply isn't true...I have no edges, only curves!
Btw...I chose Angelfish because I can be colorful at times (with my sense of humor) and have been told that I'm a hard person to figure out...I still don't understand that one...I'm just me.
Religion? I have my own faith and beliefs but I keep that to myself and don't want a man who doesn't believe in God and at the same time I don't want him to preach...if I wanted that, I'd go to the Christian dating site.
I make a mean sweet n' sour ribs, cabbage rolls and chuck blade roast...oooh, now drooling!

, but don't really like cooking but do it cuz I have to.
Have I mentioned I like dancing? I'm just a small town girl hoping to find a genuine and good-hearted man. Are you him?

I noticed a lot of men have put "All my kids are over 18" ...well, I have an adult son who lives on his own and a teenager at home.
Now let's see...the last time I dated was ummmm, what year is it now?!!
I'd like to maybe take a walk in the park (I sometimes am envious of all the couples I see in the park, walking and holding hands, lying on a blanket together talking and catching some rays or having a game of volleyball or just playing 'catch') and maybe have a picnic and get to know my date a little...and if there's chemistry, I'd like to try something out of the ordinary like going horseback riding or taking a ride in a hot air balloon (something I've always wanted to do - even tho I'm afraid of heights!) I'm not a thrill-seeker but will try almost anything that's not too brazen. (The Red River Ex?...I like the odd street-level ride but will not go on the large boat ride...almost got sick that one time...never again.) Anyway, I really do love autumn out of all the seasons as it's such a beautiful time of year...brilliantly colored trees and not too, too hot. I love the outdoors during the summer/fall...I guess that comes with growing up in the country. Being a Manitoban-ite, I've survived our crazy winters and can sincerely say "I HATE THE DAMNED COLD

" but on the other side of the coin, I really enjoy snowmobiling...haven't done that in years tho.
Getting off track here...back to first date...I think maybe go somewhere where it's public yet quiet enough to converse and get to know each other a little bit...that's when you find out if there's chemistry.
Like I said, it's been so long since I've been on a date (and when I did go out on a dates, they were always at night...kind of a 'thrown together' date and went out at night to the bar because that was the norm). But for a first date, I'd like it to be during the day for once...and then take it from there.
Oh and before I forget...I LOVE dancing...especially going to socials...yup, love those socials...haven't been to one in dog's ages...always great to go to with a couple or few people.

I realize that there's so much more in life but because of my lack of dating, I really haven't experienced too much in the way of the different activities that are out there but I can say that I'm open to ideas for sure.
If I've piqued your interest, by all means, let me know...and, I do plan to attend some of the many activities that POF has to offer...hope to see you there.

Toodles...
