I’m a young-thinking, family man kind of guy (dad & granddad). I have a strong character, am not the "silent type"— you’ll always know what’s on my mind. I am confident-not arrogant—a take-charge guy-not a control freak. I am happy, optimistic, artistic, and creative; and still explore life with childlike excitement and wonder. I love to putter around in my work shop and design, build and repair things. My engineering background taught me to keep it simple when designing something—and that less is more. I apply this philosophy to life as well as work. I have always marched to the beat of that different drummer, and have always cared more about people and animals, than things. I’m very generous and impulsive when it comes to spoiling those I love. I'm a hopeless romantic and believe that it's not just what I do, but who I am doing it with that makes me happy. I treat all people with the same respect that I am shown. I love to play devil's advocate—even if I agree with you, just to test the soundness of your arguments. I can converse with anyone, anytime, on any subject. I am a former professional photographer, but am in a much different business now, and work from home. My match will: 1) be intellectual, emotionally stable, and confident. These qualities are as important and desirable as her physical attributes; 2) be able to communicate with me from across a crowded room with just her eyes; 3) be well-read, well-informed and up on current events; and 4) indulgent of a cookie lover’s frequent desires for something warm from a hot oven.

I like real jazz, and rock with long grooving jams. My favorite bands include Glen Miller, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead and The Carter Family. Musicians that I like include Mozart, Giuseppe Verde, Michael Hedges, and Al Demiola. After Sunday brunch, I’d enjoy a trip to the mountains, a museum, or a baseball game. I also like board games, bed games, or just holding hands, and playing touch without any Great Expectations.

I enjoy dialogue movies whether in the theater, or at home; one of my favorites is “Scent of a Woman”, because it has to do with honor, truth, duty, and integrity. I was also inspired by Al Pacino’s tango scene; may I have the last dance with you?

I last read "The Hornet's Nest" depicts the passions and the brutality of American Revolutionary War in the South; and "John Adams", in which I learned much about his remarkable wife Abigail; without her, we would have lost the war; and also read "Grant", where I learned that even in battle he was the consumate gentleman.

My honey and I enjoy a romantic stroll along a deserted beach in winter, and relish the melancholy sweetness of the moment. We are bundled in layers of clothing…but only for the moment…as the promise of an open hearth and crackling fire, await us.

One of my favorite pleasures of the senses is food. I like cooking for or attending small dinner parties with good friends, food, and wine. Lush, rich Chicken Martini is my signature dish.
