Not being overly into talking about myself, I find these things awkward and difficult at times, however I will give you the best what I have to give.
Having graduated from college this year, after six years, I often find myself looking around and wanting to go back to school because I love it so much; the people, the professors and the lifestyle are rewarding and fulfilling. I have spent five years in the student movement at my college and with the Canadian Federation of Students, and although the people I have met and the things I have had the honor of doing, it time for a break!
I have many interests and enjoy doing new things, like white water rafting. Over the summer I plan on doing more camping, hiking and really getting out and seeing what Northern BC really has to offer. Currently I am reading three books, which was not a good idea to begin with I might add, however I plan on finishing all three by the end of summer, and they are:
Me to We: Finding Meaning in a Material World – Craig & Mark Kielburger
How Good People make Tough Choices: Resolving the Dilemmas of Ethical Living – Rushworth M. Kidder
Speaking Out Louder: Ideas that work for Canadians – Jack Layton
The Answer to How is Yes - Peter Block
I will leave it there, but I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
“I ask for the movement to continue, for the movement to grow, because last week I got a phone call from Altoona, Pennsylvania, and my election gave somebody else, one more person, hope. And after all, that's what this is all about. It's not about personal gain, not about ego, not about power — it's about giving those young people out there in the Altoona, Pennsylvanias, hope. You gotta give them hope.” – Harvey Milk
