Leader of group trying to get our off leash dog park legal. Also grow vegetables and fragrant flowers in my small yard, serve as backup teacher at "Bone Builders" exercise class, and organize volunteers to take farmers' market produce to soup kitchen. Belong to local book club - one of my favorites has been "Dreams from My Father." Don't think t.v. is total wasteland - watch one soap opera (smile), and I like good satire like what appears on Daily and Steve Colbert shows. One of my favorite phrases is Voltaire's: "God is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh."

Wind down at night by transcendental meditation, prayer, and crossword puzzles (where I'm learning trivia such as "Aalst" is 5-letter word for city in central Belgium). Movie tastes run from indie films to domestic comedies.

Tend to be negotiator personality type. Don't try to yell over those with differing opinions. Have attended Quaker services for many years. What you say you believe in is not as important to me as how you act.

As far as music goes, most is fine as long as it's not played too loudly or contains excessive profanity. Favorites include "Here Comes the Sun" by George Harrison, "Dance with My Father" by Luther Van Dross, and "American in Paris" by George Gershwin. Love to dance but tend to learn steps slowly because of lack of depth perception.

Born in Washington, D.C. Grew up in St. Mary's County, Maryland. Hybrid mix of blue collar country and white collar urban. Have traveled through many U.S. states, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Especially enjoyed impromptu men's chorus in back of bus in Greece, mariachi mass in Mexico, and snorkeling in Bahamas. Wish to visit Hopi reservation in Arizona, and friend in New Mexico. Would also like opportunity to see wolves running wild.
