Retired for over four years and comfortable, I keep the grey matter moving through involvement in politics and occasional consultancies with governments overseas. Fitness is maintained through cycling, golf, kayaking, and skiing. I have a quirky sense of humour, enjoy my individuality and space but would like to share it with the right person. Listening is one of my strong suits and I accept that it is not expected that you agree with me on all matters.

I'd like to meet a lady with grace, style and class. She should be able to stand her ground in intelligent conversation, put up with someone who doesn't always follow the crowd and have pride in who she is and how she keeps herself. Self-confidence and a good sense of humour are essential. Like me, she should refuse to get old and stay physically active and fit.

First impressions are lasting impressions so it is important to get off on the right foot. A first date has to be an occasion where we can talk in some quiet place and find out about each other. Dinner at a nice restaurant overlooking the water is a great place to set the stage for good conversation.
