Been on my own for nearly three years now and I'm looking for someone I can talk to, hang out with, and go out with. I have learned how to cook and am learning how to date again.

I'm a 44 year-old balding teacher, originally from south Florida and go back to visit from time to time but don't really want to live there. My kids think I'm funny, students think I'm a bit odd, and I'm usually the comic relief in whatever group I'm in at the moment. I'm 6'4", around 250 pounds, and can't play basketball worth a lick (I grew up playing football, when I play b-ball I just hang out on the middle and play linebacker)

I do have two boys (10 & 13) that live with me every other week so if you can't do the whole "with kids" thing forget it; I'm a Dad, its who I am....

I'm a sucker for a smile and nice eyes (although defining "nice eyes" is difficult, I know them when I see them).

I'm not looking for someone to make me happy because I don't believe someone else can make you happy if you can't be happy on your own. But they could make life more enjoyable....

edit: after being here for a while with basically the same profile, I'm starting to wonder if it looks like I'm just some random redneck that is incapable of dressing properly and fitting in in formal settings. Not so fast!! Not entirely what I seem to be. While I am basically a reasonably intelligent, educated redneck, those qualities make me "colorful" in formal settings as I am quite presentable and not uncomfortable in a suit and tie. I am just as comfortable discussing the artistic styles of Claude Monet (love those water lilies) as I am discussing the driving style of Dale Earnhart Jr.

Finally get to change the "Separated" tag to "Divorced", yay....

Random thoughts (will add as I feel the need)

Life is too short to drink cheap beer; quality over quantity, I say

Bump drafting should be legal on public roads for people who can't at least go the speed limit

I don't define myself by the things I own but I'll admit to wanting a Corvette for as long as I can remember

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken

Two weeks without electricity will give a person a whole new appreciation for hot showers

I've learned there are two things in life I really enjoy; teaching and coaching Jr. Pro football

Meet somewhere for a good dinner but I'm not really into the whole "fine dining" thing (just seems too formal). Really, just about anything that allows two people to try to figure out if they actually enjoy each others company I would consider to be a good first date.

Coffee somewhere for a meet and greet wouldn't be a bad thing but that's not really a date now is it??

Would prefer to meet early instead of talk on phone or e-mail a bunch, it just seems to build up expectations. Not necessarily that day but not weeks from now either....
