THE WEDDING
…And there she stood peaking out at the crowd wondering when her groom would appear. Her dress was stunning and the sparkles in her eyes said it all. Inside the little church was big anticipation. This is the moment she had been waiting for; she had found the love of her life by following all the rules that were taught to her since she was a little girl. She paid close attention to her mother and fathers stories for a successful marriage. Now hours had past and still no groom and as the wedding party began to dwindle lifting still a smile became weighted. As her parents hope for her they to concede and wish that she would do the same and start putting the broken pieces of the day behind her. So there she sat all alone rising up as cars past by. In her stubbornness she demanded the minister stay with her, he did just that not that he had faith but just to console her. As the long stemmed candles melted there flames all but one dissipated. It was about 1:00 A.M. when she hung her head and relaxed the glowing smile to a straight stair of realization; then she heard the creaking of a door opening. But kept her head low, as the steps move closer and closer they were very familiar. She looked up and there stood her groom with his closes tore to shreds muddy battered and bruised. Her smile lit up the room; as he began to speak she put her finger over his soft lips. She held him close in spite of his torn condition. They were married that early morning. They danced to no music, they cried and comforted one another, they reminisced with each other, and it was a beautiful wedding, one she could have never planned. There they sat, her head on his shoulder and he reached in his pocket and pulled out a box of her favorite tea. Her eyes filled with water and she kissed him…

First Date
THE WEDDING Part II There you lay my love surrounded in soft silk like cotton, peaceful, restful and without me for the first time, our oneness broken in flesh but not in spirit. I was thankful that God seen fit to bless us with storage where I can still find you now that you’re gone. O, how we married each other every day and honeymooned the rest away. I now see how our love and marriage was perfect because it wasn’t perfect. As she sat on a warm autumn eve, a couple approached after seeing his picture in the paper. Yes, she said, “was he your husband” yes he was. “I remember when you were married; he rushed in to buy a box of tea”. Yes I know, “but he saved us…” At that moment she moved closer to the couple a gently placed her finger over his lips…shhhh, she whispered. In the time we had, we laughed, we cried, we fought, we made up, we kissed, we ignored, we were jealous, we were comforted, we made love, we screwed, we didn’t care, we couldn’t let go, we lied, we confessed, we were proud, we were humbled, we didn’t want to but we did, we yelled, we whispered, we acted immature, we grew up we ate, we had TEA, we met apart, we were wed.
