My roots lie in the Midwest, I relate well to the stories of “A Prairie Home Companion”, only substitute Dutchmen for Norwegians. But after college it was off to discover a bigger world.

I’ve climbed to the rims of volcanoes, kayaked with whales, skied to mountaintops, and have baby-sat grizzly bears, and there is so much more on my “to-do” list. I'm well traveled yet if I had to spend the rest of my life within 250 miles of home I'd be perfectly happy, there's a lifetime of exploring to be done in my backyard.

Outdoor activities like hiking, x-c and telemark skiing, diving, biking, camping, and watching wildlife are passions. A day is not complete without practicing yoga, well, nearly every day. Also enjoy culture; music, dancing, theater, movies, fine dining.

What is missing is a partner to share adventures but also the routines of life such as quiet evenings at home with a video, book, games, or visits with friends. Simply being together, talking, laughing, and working side-by-side in the kitchen to prepare a quiet dinner with good wine – and clean-up afterwards.

Honest, sincere, respectful, trustworthy, intelligent, hardworking, and responsible are adjectives that describe me. I retired from a successful career to live securely. When called upon, I will occasionally go back to work but I find plenty of satisfaction as a volunteer with several organizations. I am adaptable, accepting of challenges, and open to new perspectives, diverse cultures, and differing opinions, however I find myself being intolerant of intolerant people.
