Yah, it's true... online dating is about as much fun as chewing aluminum foil and most profiles seem to say the same old things. So, whadaya say we get the requisite dog and pony show out of the way first?

That said, I have a good pedigree, a good education, a good career... blah, blah, blah. Sound familiar?

Unfortunately, none of those things say much about who a person really is. So, how about if I share a few things that are a little more revealing, instead? For instance, I’m a man who believes the journey is more important than the destination; I enjoy developing my intellectual side, but manage to maintain slightly more personality than a boiled turnip; and the more I mature, the more I try to see life through the eyes of a child.

Some of the things I really enjoy are receiving an unexpected call from a distant friend; feeling the morning sun on my face; seeing something old from a new perspective; hearing a new song come to life in my head; catching glimpses of exotic fish peeking out from behind a coral reef; feeling appreciated; executing a perfect golf shot under pressure; watching the sunset from the dead-silent slopes of Haleakala; taking a long hot shower then crawling between clean sheets after a long day; creating something of beauty; discovering new hole-in-the-wall restaurants; kissing, kissing, and more kissing; the drone of bicycle tires on a deserted trail; feeling a baby’s tiny hand wrap around my finger; giving a homeless person a five-spot when he hoped for a quarter; hearing the distant cry of a hawk; cooking dinner for family and friends; striking a power chord with the volume cranked up; rubbing my kitty’s ears while he purrs; exploring new ideas; acting stupid and laughing so hard my abs hurt; savoring the complexity of a great wine; being hypnotized by rhythmic waves breaking on a tropical shore; and falling asleep under the stars on a warm summer night.

Sappy? Sure, I admit it... but trust me, writing it was a lot more nauseating than reading it! Still, the truth is that all those things are a part of who I am, just like all the "typical guy stuff" I didn't bother mentioning.

Bottom line: I would like to meet a like-minded lady who's genuine, confident, balanced, intelligent, introspective, fun-loving, sensual and affectionate; someone who appreciates what another has to offer and is willing to show herself in return; someone who just feels right... someone who "gets it."

I'm open to pretty much anything and everything, but prefer quiet venues where we can share good conversation and get to know one another.
