***THINGS I'VE LEARNED FROM POF*** (from my own experiences and others I've spoken with)

Many woman on here don't know what they're really looking for. This seems to be most true of the women who state what they want in their profile. The more they emphasize this, the more true it seems to be
Low self-esteem or countless insecurities are a prerequisite for women on this site
Most men on this site are trolling for sex
80% of POF members are fat (I'm talking about unhealthy fat, not just having a little bit of a tummy)
The "best ones" all seem to have kids
Out of the few men left on here that aren't just looking for sex most of them don't know how to approach a woman for the first time
Most women on here don't know how to approach a man either
If it's obvious that they didn't put much time or effort into their profile, it will probably be obvious that they don't put time or effort in their messages either
If you don't have a good pic. forget about it. It doesn't matter how BA your profile is or how well you're able to showcase your personality there's just a lot of shallow people on here. (this goes for both men and women)
On that same note, pics taken in the bathroom mirror with a flash suck and the extreme overhead angle doesn't make you look thinner
Conversation is a lost art for many (vague one line statements do not a conversation make)

There are thousands of women on here and ultimately I will only have time for one. I'm not here to play games or lead anyone on. If I write to you once and don't get a response I move on. There are too many beautiful women on here to waste my time on little girls. If you're interested in me, then don't be afraid to approach me. Yeah, some might think my headline a bit abrasive, but I don't really care.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm the best damn thing on this site. No, I'm not being****, I just hear about all the other guys on here. All the pervs, losers, weird-o's, pansies, wanna-be players, etc. Every woman I talk to on this site has a laundry list of horror stories. Many of which have driven women away from this site, if not from online dating altogether. I may not be Brad Pitt, and like everyone I've got my own issues, but I'm as real as you are. So, how real are you?

The art of conversation is a two way street. If you lack the basic social skills needed to carry on an intelligible and entertaining conversation (this means actually listening to what's being said, asking questions relevant to and which strengthen the communication, and responding with complete thoughts that add to the experience) then don't even bother.

I'm looking for someone who just wants to be friends. Someone that's cool with hanging out and going on casual dates, but as friends. If it just so happens that we really enjoy our time together, and after a while we're spending most of our free time together, and want to continue spending our time together, then that's cool, but starting off, no expectations.

If you find that you always have to be in a relationship, or are usually only single for a few weeks at a time, or you're looking to date someone exclusively right after meeting them, then you might want to keep fishing.

To me love should always come before sex. Not that I don't like sex, but if we're having sex before the love is there, than that's all it will ever be for me.

Beautiful women with nice breasts are a dime a dozen. If that's all your profile pics. say about you, you better have some rock solid content to get my attention. (this is to me, what the "guy with his shirt off in front of his car" pic, is to you)

This is a dating site. So why the hell do you have pictures of your kids in your profile? It just seems creepy to me. I mean who is it you're trying to attract with those pics anyway?

I find it absolutely hilarious when woman w/ pics in lingerie, skimpy clothing, ass shots, legs, cleavage, or some type of seductive pose complain that all they get are messages from men wanting sex. Me thinks you're either too stupid to remain in the gene pool or you're lying and you actually crave the attention. So are you just stupid or a liar? Come on, which is it? ;)

You want to find out who the real men are on here? Then take your pics off your profile completely. LOL! I laugh because I know 99% of woman on here are way too insecure for that. (I mean, if you've got so much more to offer then sex, why do your pics look like you just finished shooting a soft core porn?)

You don't want drama?!? What are you talking about? I'll agree there's no room for b!tching and moaning or pity parties or games, but moments of raw emotion and visceral experience are what make life worth living. (nothing like a truly passionate experience to let you know that you are truly alive!)

Exercise. Gym. Workout. Sweat. - If any of these words are foreign to you or invoke thoughts of pain and misery then keep fishing. (not that I'm a gym rat or health nut, but I do try to exercise a few times a week)

I tend to have a flirtatious personality. I'm not a player, a philanderer, a womanizer, or anything like that. It's just how I am and I usually don't even notice when I'm doing it. I need a woman who can deal with this. (besides, if you're the right one you have no need to be jealous)

If you can't handle the above statements then move on.

I used to say a whole lot more in my profile, but honestly there's a lot of women out there who don't deserve to know that much about me. You can take that however you want, it doesn't really make a difference to me. If you want to know more feel free to ask.

I know there are some genuinely beautiful women on here, ( I mean beautiful as in, a transcendent type of beauty that pierces the soul and makes a man ask how he could deserve such a wondrous and awesome being) I've even met a few. I'm just waiting to meet the right one.

TALK,TALK,TALK, and then a little more talking. A first date should never be to serious, and there should never be any expectations. Whether it's going for a cup of coffee or a light lunch I think any activity that allows you to get to know the other person without feeling any obligations is an excellent way to start a relationship
