I'd like to find a partner who is educated, successful in her own right, emotionally secure and mature, and knows what she likes (and does not like). However, the conventional definitions of education and success need not apply - but chemistry is a must. If you can start a wood stove, like to hike and/or ski, are aquaphillic (is that a word ? it is now), enjoy hot tubing, and are comfortable in jeans and a T with no makeup, you will likely capture my interest. You also recognize that most things in life are much less enjoyable without someone special to share them with.

The right woman can expect ample PDA's. I'll bring you coffee in bed, make you gourmet dinners (maybe we can do that together), always hold open the door for you, and lavish you with full body massages. But lying, engaging in blame, drama, passive-aggressive communication, and needless jealousy, don't go over well in my world.

Long term, I'm looking for a committed relationship, where both people can also have some time to themselves. I want a partner that I can dream with, travel/backpack, do renovations, hike, and go on culinary excursions. Working together in the kitchen, and garden are also things that I enjoy. I expect you to have your own interests; we need to have some things that we enjoy on our own (but support each other at), and also things that we do together.

In the dating world, I prefer a no-pressure environment. Go for a hike, check out the Improv, visit an art gallery, go for a ski on the local mountains, funky new restaurant ? It all appeals to me. What I hate is the whole dating ‘game’ – so just relax, communicate, be ourselves, and not worry about trying to impress or wonder what the other person is thinking. We should be old enough to be over that by now – we’re not in our 20’s anymore.

For the most part, I’m a pretty normal guy, but I’ve done some different things in my life so far, and there are some quirks about me: I’m not really into professional sports; I believe in environmental conservation; Dogs generally love me - I generally love them; I'm not a cat person. Sailing is one of my regular activities; I lean towards veg, but when I have steak, I have it blue; I don't have a TV (by choice), but I'll come over and watch yours, or we can watch DVD's on my projector screen.
