About Me
I weigh 220 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. I was born October 3rd 1966. ( LIBRA ) I am single, never married with 0 children.
I'm not sure what to really say so I'm just going to let loose and see what comes out. If you have any question, don't be afraid to interrupt.
If I were to give you an idea of how I see myself, then watch the movie "While You Were Sleeping". When Sandra Bullock is talking to the unconscious subway guy in the hospital... he is unconscious so she tells him how she really feels. That scene describes my feelings exactly. First let me go through all the things that everyone seems to be looking for that are a given for most people but need to be noted. I have a sense of humor and I am opened minded. I like to cuddle and am very spontaneous and romantic. I can dance but I'm not Michael Jackson. I'm trying to keep in shape but I'm not a gym rat. I love kids and animals very much. I seem to be a magnet for them. I'm not a bar person but I blend in well and I am low maintenance. I have never smoked cigarettes or taken drugs. I only drink on special occasions and even then it is only wine, champagne or maybe one beer.
My friends describe me as kind, thoughtful, reliable, giving and easy going. I'm a strong believer in trust/honesty, mutual respect, communication, friendship, and dependability. I am very low key, patient and very observant. I strongly believe in friends and family. To me they are one in the same. My birth certificate says that I'm 43 but I must have missed 10 years somewhere. I am a very good listener and like to do things on a whim. I love making others happy. I especially love it when it's not even expected. For example, there is nothing like the look on someone's face when they get flowers on a Tuesday with a card that says "Just Because". What saddens me is time away from close friend, the lost of the innocents of children, and Love's potential unfulfilled. I try not to stay sad for long though.
I read about this quote from the Hebrew Talmud. "Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved."
It reinforces everything my mother taught me about relationships. My mother and I are close. She taught me to cook, clean, be respectful to and how to treat women. She is an important influence in my life but I'm not a Momma's boy. My parents were friends first and I have never seen them argue. They do have discussions but never raised voices. I want to be the same way. It is my belief that a marriage based on friendship and trust will last forever. I only want to be married once, so when I do, I want it to be for all the right reasons. I am looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with. I really believe and mean this. In order to do this, I need to find someone that will always be my best friend. This friendship must be built on trust, mutual respect, honesty and communication. I want that someone to want to be with me because I make them feel like a million dollars and not because I have a million dollars. (Not yet anyway!)
I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. That is about an hours drive west of Detroit. I just recently earned my Masters degree from college even though I'm older. I have done a lot since high school. I spent 5 years in the Army, 2 in Europe and 3 State-side. I was an X-ray tech for 6 years and I was in school at the University of Michigan for 7 years. I paid my way through college with the 4 ice cream trucks that I owned and managed. I lived in Lufkin, Tx for 4 years with my 1st job out of school. God knows what my plans for the future are but hopefully I'll be happy in whatever form that happiness comes in. Do I have hopes, dreams and goals? Sure! I think we all do. But I can only do my best, learn from my mistakes and try to achieve as many of my hopes, dreams and goals as I can.
Hopefully this describes you. You are smart, honest and easy going. You set goals and some day plan to achieve them. You are not afraid to ask for what you want. Communication, understanding and trust are very important to you. I am not a jealous man so I don’t expect you to be jealous either. You have friends and family that will stick by you through thick and thin. This says a lot about your character. I like women who can take care of themselves but aren't afraid to ask for help when needed, as I will do the same. I’m hoping to find someone that will grow and prosper with me even though I'm almost half way though life's journey. Money isn't necessarily a goal to be achieved. I’m not rich but I do plan that we will become very comfortable through fiscal responsibility and planning. But ultimately as long as we have each other it doesn't matter really. Unfortunately in America we sometimes make issues out of race or color. When I was in Europe, I noticed that this was less of an issue. I’m hoping that I might be able to find a mate that isn’t tainted by some of America’s bad habits. I am a proud and patriotic American. However, if I do have kids I refuse to nurture hatreds and misunderstands from our past.
Imagine you are walking done a busy street. You look into a storefront window and see a single puppy with a bow around his neck. All of the other puppies have been chosen long ago. At first he is up against the glass trying to get someone’s attention, but to no avail. After a while he returns to his corner, lies down and watches as the world outside rushes by without even a glance. He eventually notices you watching him and approaches the glass one more time, wagging his tail. Your eyes meet and if you could read his mind, he would be thinking, "I am the pick of the litter but only you can help me prove it!" After reading all this I'm hoping you like dogs.
First Date
In closing, I would like to leave you with one of my favorite poems and a thought to live by.
--The Song of Wandering Aengus--
I went out to the hazel wood, Because a fire was in my head, And cut and peeled a hazel wand, And hooked a berry to a thread; And when white moths were on the wing, And moth-like stars were flickering out, I dropped the berry in a stream And caught a little silver trout.
When I had laid it on the floor I went to blow the fire a-flame, But something rustled on the floor, And someone called me by my name; It had become a glimmering girl With apple blossom in her hair Who called me by my name and ran And faded through the brightening air.
Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find were she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done The silver apples of the moon The golden apples of the sun. -W. B. Yeats
Your heart already knows what your head can only dream of.
For a first date or meeting, I'm easy to please so whatever makes you comfortable works with me as well. I just want us to be able to be ourselves. I think being yourself is what ultimately leads to subsequent dates and stronger relationships. If you like to be surprised, I am very good at thinking up something special just for you.
