I'm at a place where I truly enjoy my own company and am comfortable on my own. I'm fortunate that I can share my time with family and friends. Growing those relationships is an amazing journey. Much of my time I spend with my son, living in the silly world of a nine year old and his friends. When we can we travel, it's been over spring break and down to San Diego. Hours at the zoo or the beach, no phone, just fun. At home I get out and celebrate whatever the season allows. It's Autumn and the birds are moving, leaves falling and the stars are out. Cooking, digital photography, and making time to spend with good friends rounds out most days. People (some) will say I should have a restaurant and be a comedian. Don't know why, but for me there is humor in just about everything. I like to think of myself as outgoing, social, yet when it comes to trying to meet someone I'm attracted to, I'm shy, at first. Just can't bring myself to break the ice, and say, hi, I'm David, or what a great evening, etc. I'm 50, a single dad, have a huge heart, funny, and all my friends see me in a relationship with the love of my life. I'm from upstate NY, the 4th of 6 kids to a Lebanese dad and Italian mom. Alaska's been home for 20 years. I work to live and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I don't believe there are perfect matches, just hoping there is one that compliments my life. What's that U2 song? I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. I'd love to "meet" someone in the grocery store, waiting in line at a movie, and just "feel" something. I think a lot of time we're caught up in whatever is going on in our routine and in brain mode, and not in emotional mode where we allow ourselves to be present in our lives. So I guess I'm hoping to find someone who isn't so caught up that they're able to appreciate the sound ice makes before the puddle is completely frozen over, or stop to hear the geese heading south and notice how incredibly crisp the air is as their breath rises in the cold. I love listening to music and watching/going to movies. Whistling Swan does a good job providing some great live music. Spend a lot of time learning the art of digital photography. Ice skating in winter. Hiking, biking in summer. Blue is my favorite color. Early morning blue, just after sunset blue, driving on a big wide open sky kind of day, listening to the Grateful Dead blue. I like slow, rainy, what should we have to eat, what's good on TV days. My all time favorite place to eat is Jen's. Thai food, Bear's Tooth... Not much for the bar scene. I live downtown, so walking the coastal trail for a bite to eat, coffee or wine is fun. My favorite place so far is Bali. Italy is a dream. I work in the environmental field. Fortunate to have been all over the state. Cordova, Nome, and Yakutat are my favorites. Lots more to write/communicate/share than I choose to include in this venue...

Any place where one can talk without shouting. Perhaps a walk or bike ride (I have a tandem) downtown, then a bite to eat, glass of wine.
