I'm Phil, thanks for dropping by.

Widowed since May 2000 I have now realised (at last!) that there is still a life to live and enjoy. I have also managed to find out what some of those knobs and buttons do on the cooker and washing machine!

I have two children, a 24 year old son who still lives at home and a 28 year old daughter who doesn't; but she only lives three miles away and we see each other often.

My ideal lady? Well, she will have a warped sense of humour, she will think she is average but she'll be beautiful in my eyes. She will be a lady who enjoys being treated like a lady, by a gentleman who enjoys being a gentleman.

A liking for red wine wouldn't go too far amiss as I don't mind the odd drop myself! In fact the executive position of 'Wine Buddy' is open should you be interested in applying. No experience required, wonderful working conditions and lots of foreign travel. The hours are negotiable but they could be very long and the pay is dreadful!

What makes me happy? Red wine, time with my loved ones, holidays, puppies, log fires, summer days, summer nights, close friendships, my home and many other things.

What makes me sad? Winter, conflict with my loved ones, snow, bad red wine.

I am a partner in a business in Latvia. If you are anything like I was 4 years ago, at this point you'll be saying "Where the heck is Latvia? Well, it's in North East Europe next door to Russia. The capital City is Riga and that's where we have our offices, smack in the heart of Old Town. It's gorgeous!!

My two business partners over there do most of the day to day work so that gives me lots of free time! I do, of course, need to go over to Riga fairly frequently, this amounts to about 8 or 9 trips a year with each trip normally being for 5 or 6 days.

I know that I'm pretty much outside the age ranges of the majority of ladies on this site but I don't feel it, don't look it and certainly don't act it! Growing old is mandatory........... growing up is very much optional, and let's face it, there really is no substitute for experience ;)

Are we talking first dates here? A drink or a coffee in a decent wine bar maybe. Perhaps a bite of lunch or an evening meal in a country pub? I'm open to suggestions.

The special dates come later….. a hot air balloon over a Kenyan game reserve, a log cabin on a Norwegian fjord, a barrel over Niagara Falls (well maybe not that one!), a Carribean cruise.

The world is there to be explored! If you're really lucky I might even introduce you to Riga, it's a wonderful city and is now pretty much my second home.
