Do you want children?
Does not want children
About Me
Intelligent, fit, wryly funny, romantic & eminently sane & well-balanced (at least that's what the voices keep saying.) 50 but often told I only look 49 & 1/2 & read at a 51 yr old level. Love books & movies, RUNNING, cooking, dogs, (Note: that's 'cooking' & 'dogs,' NOT 'cooking dogs') hiking, fireplaces, scuba diving, dark chocolate, lingering kisses, the ocean, line-dried sheets, sharp conversation & the natural world. Nationally ranked cuddler. Tender-hearted, passionate, articulate, iconoclastic, exTREMEly attentive (any more & it would qualify as a super-power,) emotionally available (sworn affidavits on file) playful, honest & curious about most everything.
Far from perfect, but perpetually striving to be a better me. Rationalist, humanist, feminist (yes, men CAN be feminists - I know 'harass' is NOT two words!) Occasional social/political activist, never a zealot. Reared w/ high values & believe in compassion, communication & commitment. (I.e., I do NOT think "monogamy" is a type of wood, & I would never turn State's evidence on a friend unless they dismissed my charges completely.) My religious views are complicated (I'm an Existential Taoist...sort of. Or an Objectivist Buddhist...maybe - ask me later), but I do believe there's a greater intelligence at work in the universe, with the exception of some parts of Alabama & Mississippi.
Divorced 4 yrs after 23 together, & remain very good friends (but not TOO good) with zero emotional baggage. Love my Mom. Very fit but not into team sports (once in Jr High they threw me a football & I tried to dribble it.) Not into sports bars, big cars, Tae Bo, botox, or X-box. Self-employed (thank you, Barnett Shale!) w/ lots of free time & live on 25 beautifully wooded acres in a 60 yr old stone farm house w/ my adorable blue heeler, Tillie. One of my life goals is to be the person she thinks I am.
Seeking my last love & my best friend to share this amazing journey. (Did I really just say that? Oh, God...!) Someone I can read aloud to, whose hair I can brush, & who won't hesitate to tell me when I don't know what the F I'm talking about. (I mean, like, if ever.) A 1-of-a-kind, wicked scary smart square peg for movies, Caribbean cruises, quiet evenings by the fire, shared growth, hikng Enchanted Rock, sitting zazen, & the general exploration of all things fun & intriguing. Esp. each other. A LITTLE crazy is OK, but no demonic possession, 5 state killing sprees, or Jerry Springer alumni, please.
Other interests include:
-triumphing over self-doubt (or should I?)
-making risque shadow puppets
-sculpting w/ plutonium
-staring off into space pensively while wondering what the hell happened
-forensic interior decorating
-creatifying new words
-achieving God-like control over time & space
-poking dead things w/ a stick
-paying $80 an hour to have someone ask me, "Well, what do YOU think it means?"
Turn-offs include rudeness, planet-killing asteroids, badd spellirs, Amer. foreign policy, & people who use the word 'turn-offs.'
So let's get together! I can't promise you'll be enchanted, but I can guarantee* you won't be bored. Don't delay! Act now! Operators are standing by!
*Not an actual guarantee. Your results may vary.

First Date
Okay, flowers on a first date are an absolute must! (I prefer roses, daisies are okay - no gardenias please!) Starbuck's - or anywhere quiet if SB's is too cliche - is good to warm up & see if we click. Then, if the weather's really nice, a long walk in the Nature Center or the Trinity levy, so we can tell our stories & look for snakes & stuff.
Or cooking dinner together is always fun, particularly if something catches on fire.
Still reading? Nothing on TV, huh. Okay, time for...
I BELIEVE...
