I am self-described long haired, rednecked Indian Cowboy. An author and a poet. I have been a mechanic, a police officer, an electronics technician, a cook, a cowboy, rodeo rider, detective, soldier, ranch hand, Government employee and a drunk. I have traveled the world but now I know I am happier in Texas than anywhere. For those Jungians my last Briggs-Myers showed I-52, E-48; S-50, N-50; T-70, F-30; J-50 and P-50. In the vernacular of my youth I have been rode hard and put up wet many times. I know what I am looking for and I know what I need to make me happy. I am aware of my faults and try very hard to overcome them. If'n y'all are still reading then maybe we should talk. At the least I make a good friend.
There is normally some type of song running around in my head even if the radio is off. Warning I love Country music, I like most other but given a preference I listen to country. I have my own chat room and forum on line. As for vices, I smoke but keep trying to quit, I no longer drink, and the only drugs in my life are prescribed (now if I could just remember when to take them LOL). I am a bit of a procrastinator and disorganized. I need to exercise but again hate to do it alone.
Some Observations:
Most ladies seem to prefer to look at profiles anonymously. If you want to men to know you are interested let us know believe it or not we are not mindreaders. Communicating is the first step. Even now I am not comfortable approaching a stranger without a formal introduction. I never did get the bar scene. It is helpful to know that there is some interest before a gentleman contacts you. Under Mail Setting make it yes for letting us know you viewed our profiles.
Regardless of age seems most ladies are looking for someone younger.
I am wondering if what I write here is even important since this profile shows very few signs of being read. Intelligent, one-woman man seeks long term lady. She should be appealling both to brain and eyes. Man is conservative, mature and real.

I like going to the zoo on a first date. It provides a chance to get to know each other without pressure and the walking pace suits me (they also have benches for me to rest LOL)
