Yes that is a haiku and yes I'm a bit of a dork, but whatever, that's just how I roll.

About me:

First of all I’m a lover not a fighter. I tend to get my heartbroken, and I’m ok with it. It’s a result of living, of being human. It means I’m taking the risks I need to take. Sometimes I think I need to slow down, so feel free to tell me to. I've met some pretty amazing girls on here, and while they didn't work out, I'm confident I'll meet more - maybe you?

If we date, don’t be surprised if I appear somewhat shy at first. It goes away, and you’ll probably wish it would come back. I will probably know in the first 10 minutes of the first date if I’d like to see you again, but if I seem cool at the end, it doesn’t mean I’ve decided otherwise. I’m probably just being cautious.

I’m smart, self-confident, funny, very sarcastic and self-deprecating, down to earth and laid back. I’m looking for the same. If we're messaging, please don't take me too seriously, I'm usually joking around, you'll know when I'm being serious. Having said that I’m laid back - I am pretty busy, mostly because I like it that way, but I make time for the important things in life – friends, family and myself. Looks aren’t as important to me as the qualities above, but attraction is still a factor.

I try to do something active everyday, because I like how it makes me feel, and let’s face it, I could stand to lose a couple of pounds (I'm getting there). I like to golf, play tennis, hike/walk/run the gorgeous places in and around Victoria. I ran the 10K and am considering the half-marathon next year...we'll see lol. I don’t expect you to be a track star, but being active is an important quality. It will give us something to do together and it shows that you respect yourself and your body.

Respect is important. So is honesty. I’m honest, sometimes too honest. I’m also respectful. I won’t treat you like crap or lie to you, I expect the same in return. I'm a good guy because that's the way I was raised, I'm not trying to trick you into liking me, and I do have a backbone. I don’t play games because that implies that there is a winner. There isn’t.

I’m not a big partier, I can’t stand the bars, but a nice meal at a pub is always a good thing. I prefer to lie on the couch and cuddle, watch a movie, or Grey’s will do just nicely. Maybe grab a blanket and go lie on the beach to look at the waves or stars with a bottle of wine. I know the perfect beach to do this, unfortunately it’s about 6 hours away. The stars you can see are amazing. If we make it that far I will take you there sometime : )

I’m not that materialistic, I don’t care about possessions all that much, I prefer experiences. I have a car, it runs, it drives fast enough to get me speeding tickets. I will one day be able to buy a place of my own. I’m just not there yet. I would like to travel, haven’t had a chance to do so yet – money, time and companionship have never seemed to aligned themselves all at the right time.

I love my work (I’m an accountant – sad I know lol), but I dislike my job. I’m looking for something better, but for now I’m committed to finishing what I’ve started. I’m still a student too, although it seems to be taking longer than I’d like. I’m ambitious, but I have more important priorities than a better business card and a bigger pay cheque. I will get those though, just give me time. I do have a specific goal that’s tied into why I’m trying to be active, but it’s hard to explain. I’ll do my best if it ever comes up.

I’m a really good, funny, sweet, dependable, loyal and caring man. If you’ve read this far you might think otherwise, but I’m just being honest above.
