I am a single guy who is looking for romance, love and a long term relationship. I think this is probably true for most people (but some do not admit it).

I grew up in Preston, Lancashire; I completed my degree at St. Catherine's College, Oxford; since then I've worked in the software industry. I've been married and divorced once, but that was long ago.

I love music, especially pop and rock music, and I am a "child of the '80s". I sing when I am driving in the car! I enjoy history and love castles, stone circles and old cathedrals! I love much of science, be it fact or fiction. And of course, I love my computer, whether for internet or gaming. I am honest and loyal. I'm a introvert, I'm never the life and soul of any gathering. I do have a cheeky sense of humour when I know someone well. I have no pets, but I love cats. I am usually very talkative!

In a relationship, spending much of my free time with my partner matters to me, but also having some hobbies different from eachother is expected and normal. I enjoy eating out, whether it is a Sunday pub lunch or an evening restaurant meal. I enjoy going to the cinema to watch whatever is on. I like seeing new places, whether it's a new city, a country village, a huge castle or windswept deserted beach! Even just sitting chatting, drinking cappucino and watching the people walk by, is fun with the right company.

I look for a woman who very honest and loyal, someone very open with their emotions, someone who wants a real relationship, tactile and easy-going, with a loving nature and a warm sense of humour, and a mischievous streak as well. She needs to be open-hearted, and not scared of being kissed in public. :) Although personal qualities matter far more in the long run, I have to find a potential partner attractive to me, she needs to have that indefinable quality where just by smiling at me, she makes it impossible for me not to smile back. So you must have a photograph on your profile, preferably several.

One thing I am not is into the drinking culture of wild partying and nightclubs, so if your life is built around that, we will not be well matched. I only seek a non-smoker.

I am looking to actually meet someone and get off this site! Of course, I'll exchange messages and chat online to someone for a while, but I do hope that it would move to phonecalls and eventually to meeting face-to-face after a little while, if we find we like eachother. Some people here only want to chat on the internet and never meet, if you are one of those, I'm not the one for you.
