I got early retirement in 2004. The years without the commuter week have been splendid.

I bicycled from Santa Fe to Wyoming that fall. I lived in Paris for a year in 2005 (near Montmartre). I wrote a 'Prequel to Hamlet' there, an Elizabethan tragedy in five acts. It is unproduceable but has its moments.

I have been to nine solar eclipses since 1991.I bicycled from BART to Kelowna, BC in the summer of '06, drove to Mardi Gras in 2007, bicycled from Kelowna to Prudhoe Bay in 2008. I spent a week working on the Obama campaign in Grand Junction (Colorado was close, California wasn't) in hopes of getting a different set of lying scumbags. (Think I'm wrong? Wait three years.) which has worked out decently. No more apartments in Paris for now, but I am not out on the street either. I have my house to myself about half the time, the side apartment the rest.

I am currently procrastinating writing a series of essays using ancient literature to set baselines for the degree of world deforestation. Sadly I am way better at coming up with essay topics and story ideas than at actually getting anything written.

I am looking for a woman who is smart, articulate, and well-read. I am not insecure about my wits and I would rather have a partner who makes me think than one who doesn't. I scored in the upper half of the top percentile of the LSAT and GMAT which means either that I am smart or at least that I am good at taking standardized tests.

I lied about being 6'2". I am actually 5'6". Women often put a tall height in their search terms and miss meeting semi-wonderful people like me.
