About Me

Hey everybody, I'm John, and I live in New York. I'm just really on here looking to know a few nice people and see where things go. Friendship is always welcome. I'm pretty content with everything, but good friends always enhance life. I don't care how old you are, how much you weigh, what you look like, where you live, or any of that shallow crap. You can be 18 or 60, and still be an awesome friend. Me? I'm old enough to drink and vote, but waaay too young to retire, collect social security, or get a discounted bus pass. And that's about as specific as I get, because it really doesn't matter. Disregard whatever the age says. I change it from time to time just to get a little time in every search engine. It runs the gamut from 20 to 100! I work in TV syndication and love it. Some favorite TV shows include Friends, Will & Grace, That 70's Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, and cool classics like Candid Camera, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, and Bewitched. I enjoy watching TV Land, and really enjoy The Game Show Network. My musical tastes range from cheesy Pop to Iggy Pop. Classic Rock to Classical. Indie to Instrumental, New Age to New Wave, Ska, Punk, etc... Basically, I like any kind of music, as long as I like it. The category doesn't matter to me. I don't drink or smoke, and I've never done drugs in my life. I like old world romanticism, and I love to get all cozy in front of the fireplace during a raging winter storm outside. I enjoy snowboarding and snowmobiling. I am quite a sensitive romantic, and I tend to like very traditional and family-oriented things. I also believe in true love, and a relationship lasting a lifetime (as it should). I also believe that one's other half should be a top priority in every way, and there's no such thing as not having enough time for him. My ideal is building and sharing a life together as a family, in a cozy home, perhaps in the country or suburbs, with a fireplace, barbecue, and all the comforts that make a house a home. Just the two of us. Sound corny? Maybe. But it's my perception of what life together should be like. Anyway, please feel free to drop a note and say hello. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. *Huggles* Oh, and a note about the pictures, I know I seem to always have a stalk stare on my face, but I'm just not a smiler for pictures. I guess I just don't like my smile, and unfortunately it makes me look a tad on the arrogant or pompous side. But I'm sooooo NOT. I'm probably the most upbeat, happy and positive person you could ever know. I'm always laughing, joking and smiling in real life. And the 'Goth' picture was for Halloween. The evil-eye glare was just for fun. Anyway, pictures are only one-dimensional. In real life we are all multi-dimensional, so don't let any of the pictures fool ya.

First Date
It's hard to really define a perfect first date. It all depends on the person and the interests at hand. However, I can easily descibe an ideal person to find: Someone who enjoys picnics in the summer, jumping into a pile of leaves in the fall, having fun in the winter snow, nice walks in the spring, and so on. Also, someone who can enjoy travelling any time of the year. Someone who would enjoy a Maine cabin in the winter, the warmth of a fireplace, and the coziness of snuggling under the comforters. Someone who enjoys homey and family things, and someone who is relationship oriented. Someone who can be fun and silly, yet understand sincerity. Someone who doesn't mind screaming on a roller coaster or letting me win a prize for him at a carnival. I guess what I'm trying to say is that a perfect partner for me would be someone who is real, yet different in his own way, and hopefully likes a variety of things (from the common to the unusual and offbeat). Someone who wouldn't grimace at the thought of watching a B&W sitcom (like I love Lucy) or occasionally hearing some offbeat instrumental music that sounds like it would be heard in an office or elevator. Someone who enjoys cooking (because I sure enjoy eating!), travelling, and someone who would be willing to give 100% of himself to make a permanent, lifelong relationship. Distance isn't a problem. I think it creates the necessity for two people to really get to know each other before finding their way to the next step. I also believe in lots of communication. I like to be the very first "Good morning" phone call, communication during the day, and and the very last *Kiss* goodnight by phone. I value someone who has a great sense of humor and can tolerate my stale one-liners ;-). Nobody likes to be out on the dating scene, or spending holidays without someone special. Very simply, a perfect partner would be someone who is dedicated, loving, caring, honest, and really wants to journey through life hand-in-hand with that one special person.
