| | I am from the east coast - a very direct, confident, assertive woman - but I am softened around the edges from living in Austin (down south) for 30 years. This great city has taught me to slow down a little, listen a little better, act a lot kinder.
I'm a tough lady but I have a vulnerable side. The most beautiful music will bring tears to my eyes.
I was married to an attorney for 26 years. After our divorce, I dated another attorney for 8 years. Wow, just coincidence, I guess. But I do enjoy an intelligent conversation and some verbal sparring.
My favorite recent book is Michael Chabon's The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. I am currently reading his The Yiddish Policeman's Union. It's very funny. I like just about anything by John Irving. I always read the local paper, the Wall Street Journal and the Sunday New York Times. You could call me a news and politics junkie.
I would like to meet someone who is intelligent but not arrogant, cultured but not pompous. Oh, and kindness is important. The right guy will bring out the best in me and I will return that in kind.
My ideal evening with the one I love is a dinner at home, then sit on the couch with a glass of wine, listening to music - maybe Leonard Cohen, Lucinda Williams, Jimmy LaFave, Emmylou Harris. If we are lucky we can watch an electric storm through the windows and listen to the rain.
