Not sure this is the way to go but I'm gunna give you all the stuff about me I can think of.......I think I am a fantastic catch for the right lady, funny, happy, intelligent, loyal, considerate, well mannered and most certainly not stuck up, did I mention modest. (Sorry but you can't be on this kinda site without being a little pretentious) however I cannot seem to 'sell' myself very well, but this is my try.

I am not on here to get loads of friends on the e mail, it is not my style, I have my own good friends and don't need cyber friends. I am here to meet a lady that I get on well with and can hopefully start a meaningful relationship with. If we meet and don't click that’s ok at least we have had a day out. I am also not on here for a sh*g, there are other sites for that, if I were that way inclined, which I am not and pride myself on my morals (old fashioned I know but that’s how I am and wouldn't want to be any other way).

I'm afraid I don't have favourite TV programmes, I have been asked about this more than once so to save you the trouble of a seemingly deliberately short answer, I don't have a TV. I don't want one. I have my PC so I can watch a movie on DVD if it is a must see, but generally I like to do things with my time.

I'm not going to waste your time telling you of all the things I enjoy because we all enjoy most things done with good company, but my hobbies/pass times include my koi carp, mountain bike, crafts/diy and shooting.

I'm not one for going to overcrowded pubs/clubs on a Friday night, I am passed the clubbing scene now, I enjoyed it but I am 34 now and much prefer an out of the way place with a live band or a decent meal. I am a strong healthy chap but don't eat that healthily (I do need to change that), maybe its time I learnt to cook.

If I tell you what qualities I am looking for in a lady hopefully that will tell you a little about me as I am finding it difficult to write about myself.

Outdoorsy type is a must, if the weather allows it I am outside. I like intelligence in a lady, it helps when trying to hold a conversation. Spontaneous, to be able to leave for an adventure as soon as the idea arrives in your head(I don't do planning very well, I'd rather just do it), a sense of humour (almost every single person has wrote that they want their man to be funny, well I laugh a lot but I am not an entertainer I need someone to bounce off), a sense of adventure (not scared of the unknown or of getting dirty), a genuine care and interest in the natural world, I cannot abide cruelty of any sort and feel very strongly about the way food animals are kept. I am NOT a vegetarian though.

Update, I am very sorry if I offend anyone with this one but I have to say that in the past I have had a girlfriend with her own children and when we parted company, the children that loved me were denied the chance to see me again and I lost children that were as important to me as I think my own would be and it hurt me to loose them, I can't set myself up for that kind of fall again, pls understand I don't mean any offence by it. Consider this before you message me, thanks. This does not mean that I would not be in a relationship with a mother but the feelings of the children are paramount, and they are not pawns in a game.

Born and bread Bolton, I love this town, but not the bit I live in so I am thinking I may pack up and move in the next 12 months. Where to, I don't know yet, I guess the right lady could influence that as I have no ties. It will have to be more rural though. I always wanted a place out of the way of the traffic and the noise.


I love the world I live in, I think its brilliant and hope to see as much of it as possible. I havn’t travelled enough yet and feel the urge to explore but it is all about who you choose to do that with.

I do not want to meet for NSA or one nighters I am 34 now and looking for something more meaningful.

For those that ask the girl in the pic has been my friend for 15yrs and probably always will be.

If I have added you it is because there is something about you I like, but it seems to me that no one is on this site to actually talk or meet. I have sent out too many messages that don't get responded to. I know that some of you girls have a hard time with the bad men but it wasn't me. Countryside walk has to be a winner, followed by a hearty meal and a pint. Not very imaginitive I know but there are a million fantastic places to do this and many things to see and do.
