First Date
As far as a first date goes, I think a simple afternoon is ideal. Somewhere neutral, so both parties are not uncomfortable. I think dinner the first time out can be awkward especially if one of the parties is not that interested. It doesn't serve either of us to sit politely, make small chitchat thinking the whole time, God when is this going to be over. Short and simple, probably a cup of coffee. You just know it when you meet if it's there or not. If not, hey you make an aquaintance and the more people you know, the better one's chances are.
