About Me
Hey there-So tell me what do you think? If you're anything like me you're thirty- something, forty-something or maybe even fifty-something and you're looking for someone special to enjoy life with. Sure you have a good life but it could be great if you had a wonderful companion by your side. And no I'm not talking about buying a dog-lol. Unfortunately in todays hectic world it seems that there are not many options out there in locating this special guy or gal-whatever the case may be. In our twenties it was not such a big deal, go to a bar or a party & mingle. It was a simple process and at the end of the night you might go home with a phone number or two in you pocket. Fast forward to 2008. The Internet, cell phone and high tech age. Sure bars still exist but now you're mingling with people old enough to be your own kids. Needless to say its a different world now. No one talks to each other, they swap text messages that are written in letters that aren't really even words. Then there are the blind date setups. In theory its a good idea. Your friends or family know you and they know another single person so the try to fix you up. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. In the end you appreciate the thought but feel you should be able to find someone on your own that's better suited for you. So where did that lead us?...Online dating. Initially I thought it was a fantastic idea. I've known people that were successful at this so why not give it a try? I've been on Plenty of Fish off & on for a little over 6 months and have come to realize several things. First of all it's not nearly as easy as I thought it would be to meet someone. Profiles suggest that everyone seems to want to meet someone to spend time with but in reality everyone is not a good match. Secondly I've only met a handful of the women I've corresponded with. Most exchange a few cleverly written emails & then they apparently fall off the face of the earth or are kidnapped by aliens because I never hear from them again-lol And finally on a more positive note women seem to have a knack at expressing who they are and who they are looking for. Needless to say I enjoy reading though profiles but realize ultimately online dating is just a hope, a prayer and a tool that I might meet an awesome woman because she has a computer, a profile & hope too. :-)
So here goes nothing...in a nutshell...I'm a spontaneous, fun-loving honest, one-woman guy. I'd rather date one great gal than confuse my life by dating every gal that lives West of the Mississippi. I enjoy a variety of interests & activities and am open to trying new things too. I love to visit new places, watch movies, dine out or just relax at home. I'm into fitness & try to take care of myself. I'd like to find a woman with similar interests, qualities & a positive outlook for dating and potentially a relationship.
If you have hope too please feel free to drop me a few lines. (I already know you've got a computer & a profile :) I'd love to hear from you. Best of luck in your search.

First Date
First dates are a tough call. Honestly I think that first dates should be short and casual. Maybe meet at a coffee shop or bookstore, have a latte or cappuccino and talk things over.
It can be a big hurdle getting past the first date so let's leave the second date for a nice dinner & movie.
