Here I am in my words:
First of all let me say that a year ago I put in my age incorrectly and now I can't seem to change it so before you read any further, I am actually 55 years old. I just want to spare anyone the time reading about me who might find that a problem.

I am independent, kind, giving, hard working, honest, and emotionally stable but a hopeless romantic who can cry a bit at the movies. I even like the occasional chick flick! I'm in good shape and slightly over 6ft tall and not overweight, with salt & pepper hair with more salt than pepper! By the way, the cute girl in the pic with me is my middle daughter.

I love to laugh, tell jokes and make people laugh. I seem to see the funny side of life and the silver lining in every cloud and yet I have a side of me that can be very serious, intense and passionate about people and life.

If you are on Salt Spring, I am often at TJs Coffee in Ganges on many an afternoon working away on my Dell notebook so if you are there, why not say Hi!

My personal philosophy is that life is one big gymnasium for self development, gaining new experiences, meeting new people to share ideas with, having lots of fun and creating great relationships with friends and hopefully that special you out there! I also know that we see others better than we see ourselves so I am always open to critical feedback as long as it isn't mean spirited. I believe that learning, growing and loving has no boundaries.

What else can I tell you? I am very intuitive and emotionally developed for a guy and my ego finds it easy to say sorry when I am wrong! I have been meditating since 1974 and find it helps to keep me centered. Ocassionally I have been accused of acting like a goofy kid and consider it a compliment if somebody tells me to act my own age.

I own my own property, am a reformed workaholic who has been learning to slow down and find a balance between making money and sitting back and enjoying some of the other aspects of life.

What am I looking for in a dating partner?

I am looking for a woman who appreciates others and loves life, has a positive & optimistic outlook, independent and looking for a someone to share some of life's wonders with and have lots of fun times. I like the idea of a woman who is happy to go for hikes, enjoys snuggling in front of a fire watching a movie or just talking the night away. I like to dance from time to time and would like to learn more formal dancing at some point.

I definitely appreciate a woman who is a considerate, warm, gentle, nice, kind, affectionate, caring and loving, and is also emotionally available, open, thick skinned, non-judgmental and could appreciate and respect me for who I am.

I try to keep myself in good shape and would appreciate a woman who feels the same way.

I would thank the Universe to date a pretty lady who is independent and maintains her own identity and does not want to be in a codependent relationship, has a good sense of humour and can laugh at herself too!

A passion for travel would be a bonus as well as liking varied outdoor & indoor activities and enjoys having a good laugh because I believe laughter is healthy, fun & very good for the soul. I would love telling you jokes and frequently making you laugh as I see humour in a lot of life.

I am not a big fan of organized religion, although I can respect someone else's beliefs. However, I am spiritual and believe in a universal energy but not some man made concept of a guy with a beard in the sky dressed in a white robe who constantly makes decisions for billions of people, wars, sporting events and other beings simultaneously second by second. If there is a god, she must be very far away.

I would also appreciate a partner who likes to be direct and say what they feel or think and who would appreciate someone who also likes to be respectfully direct.

I am the type of guy who wants to learn and discover what makes you purr because I believe that there is nothing more wonderful than making someone special feel good about themselves and to feel exquisite.
