My Self-Summary
before you read any further, if you don't like dogs or football, then i am not for you.

well, i'm not so great at writing about myself (or so everyone says that) but here it is. i'm 27 years old hailing from jersey city, nj where i have lived my entire life so far. while i am a true city kid, i've learned to appreciate life outside of the concrete jungle and find myself doing outdoorsy things on the weekends.

i love dogs. i run a dog walking business and work for the local animal shelter. i am actually employed there, not a volunteer. i also own a 70lb or so american bulldog/pitbull mix. he is my best friend in the whole world. i try to take him out somewhere anytime i have a day off and usually end up down at the dog friendly beach in manasquan, or up in pa at my parents summer home.

i also own a cat and have a foster cat. once again, if you're allergic or hate animals, i am not for you.

i am a HUGE football fan. i love the indianapolis colts but i also follow the new york giants. as for other sports i also like the new jersey devils and the new york yankees.

i play a wide array of musical instruments, draw/paint, write music/poetry, and contribute to just about all of the other fine arts in some way. lately, i've been learning how to work a sewing machine and plan on opening my own etsy shop. i guess that adds me to some sort of cliche?

i am somewhat athletic. i played softball all the way from little league to high school and eventually in college at an NCAA ranked school. since i realized that softball is pretty much a hopeless sport after college, i made the switch to ice hockey. i've only been playing for about 3 years but it's a lot of fun and a great way to burn off some energy.

overall, i'm looking for like minded people, meaning those who can kick back, have a good time, think outside the box, and be honest. i don't care if you smoke, but i'd prefer meeting people who are not daily drinkers. i've had enough of those to last me a lifetime.
What I’m doing with my life
i work for the local animal shelter and run a dog walking/pet sitting business. i am working on getting animal control certification for the state of new jersey and should be certified by the middle of october.
I’m really good at
i'm fiercely loyal, so taking care of my friends is one of my best qualities. i'm also good at the fine arts, sports, and being reliable. sometimes i'm late for things, so that's probably my biggest downfall.

the big scary pit bull that accompanies me around town.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books - history books, waiting for snow in havana, the metaphysical club, pragmatism, betting on the muse (or any bukowski), the brief american pageants, the 9/11 commission, american soldier, dinner at the homesick restaurant, don't shoot the dog, death of a salesman, nectar in a sieve, the way of cartouche, i am the cheese

movies - anything chevy chase (vacation, funny farm, fletch, etc), serial mom, rocky horror picture show, home alone 2, the ref, dutch, the little rascals, little giants, etc.

music - nofx, the ataris, rancid, a static lullaby, coheed and cambria, queen, rush, green day, jason mraz, relient k, alanis morisette, cruiserweight, pennywise, no use for a name, lagwagon, four year strong, jawbreaker, jets to brazil, alkaline trio, jim croce, useless id, old nj pop punk bands, etc...

food - sushi (i could eat it everyday if i could afford it!), buffalo wings or anything buffalo style, good pizza, falafel, general tso's chicken, subs on italian bread, chicken parm and francese, pretzels, bagels, dunkin donuts, and other various finger food. i love appetizers. i hate french fries and pasta.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
i let my dog sleep in the bed with me. deal with it. i also have a lot of my stuff decked out in indianapolis colts gear. once again, deal with it.
