About Me
I am a retired Professor of Religion, but would describe myself as spiritual and not religiou. My three children are accomplished in the arts. My daughter is an opera singer and sang the lead role in Phantom of the Opera in Toronto for 4 years. My oldest son is a chiropractor and married to a Broadway singer. Each has three small children. My youngest son lives in New York and was a dancer in musicals and is now a massage therapist. I travel often to Germany and speak fluent German. I would love to meet someone for a long-term relationship who loves to read, likes to go to concerts, is interested in travel and who is not afraid of relating to another family. I would also expect to relate to my partner's family in a meaningful and loving way. Exercise would be important and I would hope to do it together...I like to walk and play tennis. I would love to interweave our families. I am still active in teaching, offering two courses each Winter Semester at our very excellent Senior Center in Iowa City. While distance may be a factor, I do not consider it a major obstacle to a meaningful relationship. While it is difficult to find a life partner at this age, I firmly believe it is possible and would love to find a mate who is interested in a committed relationship, filled with discussion, entertaining, cooking together, traveling, and sharing an intimate life. I would be glad to respond to any questions you might have about me. My wife died in 1991 of Scleroderma. The life we had together impels me to search for a similar experience with another woman.
First Date
What I would expect from a first date would be meeting at a restaurant of your choice and a prolonged discussion of our families, our desires, our expectations, our visions and what we see for ourselves for the remaining years of our life.
