I'm a pretty optimistic guy with a good sense of humor. I've been in the Chicago area for a little over four years now & recently moved just outside of the city to Oak Park. I miss my old neighborhood, but I do love the new apt.

People who know me would (I hope) describe me as intelligent, kind, laid back and witty. I'm not a "life of the party" kind of guy. Not that I don't like to have fun, I just don't require a lot of attention. I like going out with friends, but have no problem with staying in on a Saturday night. In fact, I'm a little tired of the bar thing.

I enjoy learning and am planning on taking some kind of classes and maybe guitar lessons over the next few months. I love books, movies, and live music. I sometimes find myself getting sucked into random shows on the History or Discovery Channels. I don't watch a lot of tv, but I'm a sucker for the Cartoon Network.

Brunch is one my favorite things. Who doesn't love brunch? Pancakes, eggs, coffee - how can you go wrong? I love nature and especially enjoy hiking & kayaking. I just wish there were more places to do those things around Chicago. I'm a bit of a music geek - listen to a lot of different music, but I especially love good jazz (Check out Skerik, Garaj Mahal, Jacob Fred, or Bill Frisel sometime). I'm also a big fan of Neko Case, Flaming Lips, Tom Waits, and about a thousand other artists...

Professionally, I am a packaging engineer/buyer for a company that makes hair care & skin care products. I like my work, but sometimes I spend too much energy at it, so I'm in need of someone who can distract me a little...

I'm looking for a kind, laid back yet motivated girl. Someone who is smart and independent, will challenge me intellectually and introduce me to new experiences & ideas. Equally important, is the ability to have fun, laugh at herself (and at the stupid things I do), and make the best out of any situation. Definitely a low maintenance, not afraid to get a little dirty kind of girl. Bonus points if you're not a picky eater.

That's it, really. I'd love to meet a great person and fall in love, etc. but I'm not really in any hurry for all of that. If I just meet one or two people that end up being new friends, thats cool too.
